Kasper Hjulmand, Danish national coach, said in his post-match interview "We struggled a little bit in the first half, so I had to make a few adjustments, not only at half time but also during the second half. After that, we were unstoppable."

Are you listening Steve?

Hjulmand (Wheelman in English) is being praised here in Denmark for his fearless attacking style of football.
11 shots on target against Russia says it all. In his opinion it's 50:50 against Wales.

It's squeaky bum time for the Englanders. The Czech team is not going to roll over and I expect the Croats to beat the Scots.

We could be the only Brit team in the next round.

England draws Germany. Of course Roberts and possibly Cabango will be facing Brentford's Danish players. Some chance for redemption. Not very long ago Greece won it all.

Wales need to get a grip in midfield and attack more. Reading that we have the worst record for shots faced in the last 16 allowing 59 shots against us. In fact only Turkey with 63 shots against have a worse record in the entire tournament! This tells me we are allowing other teams far too much latitude from midfield.

Denmark have faced only 13 shots so far and only Italy and Spain better them with 12. We need to go out and strut our stuff. We have quality players and we need to take the game to Denmark who are nothing like as good without their playmaker talisman, Erikson. I wish him well but hope he is going to be sorely disappointed come 7 o'clock this evening.

Watch their left wing-back Maehle. A class player, plays for Atalanta in Italy. It's going to be interesting to watch the battle between him and Roberts.

Another one to watch is 20 years old winger Damsgaard who plays in the attacking midfield instead of Eriksen. He plays for Sampdoria, also in Italy.

I never understood why we have been so reluctant to sign players from Denmark. Hard working, never complaining, and technically gifted players. And cheap. And they all speak English. Last season Brentford had 7 Danish players in their squad.
