My expectations for watching the Turkish game was in my apartment.
That was until a few Turkish friends called to take me to the bar to watch Turkey beat Wales.
I thought in for a penny in for a pound, I have a Welsh flag out here, so put on my Swansea top and cap and the flag around my shoulders.
Got to the bar, must have been 100/150 Turks in there. not another Taff there, Instantly i was the focus of attention and remarks. ever had the experience of shouting "YES" with hands in the air when we scored and had a 100 + heads turn to look a you. Took a bit of good humoured stick when Bale missed the pen. then that second goal had me tapping my Swans badge.
The game ended in very good humour, quite a few came and congratulated me, a few even bought me a beer. All in all a great night (y)

Ben Davies is rested. Connor and Nico are WBs. Moore is rested.

I like this line-up.

Looks like Rodon is now the key stone at the heart of the defense. He’ll be there forever.

Morrell who's been decent in previous games is struggling here and out of his depth. He's been routinely giving the ball away and lost his man for their goal. We can either straight swap Jon Williams in there or use Ampadu if we bring Mepham/Ben Davies in at CB. Pity Cabango isn't on the bench and only Page knows why. :rolleyes:

Ward's distribution has been chronic and he'd looking like he's been taking lessons from Woody but my main gripe is with our top players. Bale has been useless and Ramsey little better. Italians are dominating the centre of the park and they are doing sod all about it. As for Joe Allen, he's a little better than the others but what a brainfart of a tackle he made in such a dangerous area.

Bearing in mind Italy made 8 changes they are way better than us. Where is our spirit and urgency? Where is this stronger together attitude? We are playing with a whimper and there's no sign of this mythical Welsh hwyl that so often seems to go on holiday. We'd better shape up and start playing as if there was something on this game second half because a couple of goals the wrong way for us in either/both games could see us slump to third in the table.

Down to Page now with his tactics but he's got to motivate his players to get out of this stupour they're playing in.

Well at least we're through! Great defensive effort after we went down to 10 men but we weren't very good before then. If we are to progress in the next game when it looks as though we will play a beatable team, I hope that our big-hitters decide to turn up because they didn't today.

I feel that Page has to bench Morrell for the next game. He's had two decent enough games but today he looked just like the Luton reserve player he actually is. We can't afford that in the knockout stages where the best teams with their classier players will abound. I'm not disrespecting him because I do see a player in him in the future; but right now we need better.

Good result all things considered. How did we earn 2nd place. Denmark can still get 2nd place with a win against Russia. Seems like we'll play the winner of that match. Unless Pukki can score a few against Belgium.
