Pretty reckless dealing by the hedge funders, selling four centre backs with no thought about who’s going to partner the only remaining one,VdH, tomorrow.
Did Potter know they’d all be sold on, by making Fer captain and VdH vice captain it looks like it.
All he can do tomorrow is play Naughton out of position or give under 23’s Rodon his debut.
We can’t even afford Woods on loan apparently, so no help from that quarter.
You’ve got to ask yourself what use our owners are. Once there’s nobody left that’s sellable will they run away with their ill gotten gains.

Rodon has to debut tomorrow. It's do or die. It's time to set fear aside, have faith and be bold.

Trying to do patchwork with Naughton is not the way forward. Rodon either has the chops or he doesn't. Time to find out while we still have loan-in time left or can hunt around for a free agent. Fuck we could even try to get Chico back ... I'm sure he'd be here in a flash if we asked him.

I would be all for that. Chico would be great for morale in the dressing room and lead by example on the pitch. I accept that he might need time to get up to speed but his wholehearted attitude and effort would inspire the others. But I doubt that the Idiot would even give it a passing thought. Mind you, if we got Chico for nothing and he led us into the top 6 by Xmas, you can bet your arse he'd be sold if Jenkins could get a fiver profit for him.

I simply can't believe that we can't afford Woods on loan. It doesn't make sense. He is not on big wages and we've made a significant profit by selling almost the whole first team squad.

But was he available on loan? As far as I know we've been negotiating to buy him for weeks. If we could afford to buy him (albeit the offer was refused) surely we could afford a loan fee? Something has happened very recently that caused our absurd transfer window but the club obviously aren't saying. Perhaps K&L got their IRS assessments this week - or Rooney has demanded a pay rise!
