Forest Sack Martin O'Neil
Nottingham Forest have sacked manager Martin O'Neil after less than six months in the job.
O'Neil a one time fans idol, who won two European cups with them as a player.
His sacking comes less than a week after Roy Keane left the club. Sabri Lamouchi has already been named as his replacement.

Sheesh.... Before the rumour mongers can put Mary Gonk up as the favourite!

Looking forward to a good women's Semi final tonight, the Temp. will be down to 25C for the KO, and reducing as the game progresses. Good luck to England, they deserve to be where they are.

Yep. I'm also rooting for the girls. Let's hope they do it.

Have to say the best team won, England had their chances, few hairline decisions against them, missed pen, but the consistent team were the USA, far more clinical, forcing errors from England, who's passing game was having a bad day.
It's very easy to see now how VAR can change a game. it's capability to judge someone offside by two or three inches.

As I said in the post above VAR is very much a game changer, being able to judge offside by a couple of inches. Is this what we really want from football, gone is the human element, are we looking at a future where camera's will run the line rather than officials ,who are slowly but surely having their opinions over-ruled by camera's …… goal line technology, VAR. I think it time to put the brakes on now, as it all seems to be getting a bit too robotic.

VAR consistency is going to be the greatest challenge. The penalty should have been retaken. If I understand the rule crackdown that has been going on .,. The keeper moved off the line before diving for the ball. Also on penalties, my favorite peeve, is encroachment into the box and semicircle by defending and attacking players ... this should also require the kick to be retaken, but is rarely looked for and called these days.

Yes and any one giving a dirty look to a member of the opposing team should be booked for ungentlemanly conduct.

Reading that Chris Coleman is favourite for the Sheffield Wednesday job and that also Garry Monk is in with a good shout. If either of them are appointed I hope that they do to Wednesday what Carlos did to us !! ;)

They are both useless managers, so no problem there.

Watched friendly between Reading and Chelsea today. Must say that I am impressed with Reading's pace and direct football. This is the first full season for Portuguese manager Jóse Gomez with Reading (appointed in December 2018) and I expect them to play much better football now when they've had a full pre-season with him.

How are Chelsea offsetting the loss of Hazard
They'll be ok. Now they play more as a team and they have some great youngsters like Mason Mount and Hudson-Odoi. They play with more pace than before. Chelsea have a good squad. I expect both Chelsea, Spurs and Man United to be more competitive than last season. Not so sure about Arsenal. Liverpool won't be so good like last season, and City will have no problem to win the title again.

Watched Luton Town v Middlesbrough last evening. Entertaining, but primitive football. Nothing to fear guys. We play superior football.

Luton played some decent stuff and at pace. You could see the influence of ex Swan Graeme Jones with some of their passing football. Mind you, you could also see the defensive fragility that we always had under Martinez and Jones.

In patches, yes. But I didn't see a system in their style of play. They remind me of Reading. Attack with pace and try to outscore your opponent without thinking what is going on at the back. Naive.

Luton (against Middlesbrough):

Passing accuracy: 72,9 %
Possession: 49,9 %
Short passes: 252
Crosses: 32
Long balls: 54

Swansea last season at home:

Passing accuracy: 85,2 %
Possession: 57,8 %
Short passes: 514
Crosses: 19
Long balls: 52

As you can see they don't play many long balls, they rather attack from the flanks and send a plenty of crosses into opposition box. Their passing accuracy is awful, you can't play possession based football wirh such passing accuracy. And they totally lost midfield battle to Middlesbrough. Just have a look at this midfield hole in their heat map:

Deciding between watching Man U vs Milan or Nottingham West Brom, looks like Nottingham because James isn't starting for Manchester.
