This thing is far from going.Yesterday was the highest recorded day of infected cases.
Beijing China has cancelled over 1,000 flights in and out of the city. It's also coming close to considering a lockdown of some 20 million people. with all re-opened schools being closed again.
Brazil at the moment is on 40 M + deaths and showing no signs of decreasing.

Why not? Who's blocking.
There are many Europeans stuck in New Zealand.

The airlines are constantly cancelling flights and not giving money back. My daughter had a flight booked with Qatar for July 24, they cancelled it already in late March, and she still hasn't got her money back. In early May she booked the flight for July 6 with Air New Zealand to Melbourne, and from Melbourne to Frankfurt via Doha with Emirates. Emirates cancelled that flight, and she hasn't got her money back.

There have been flights from Hong Kong to Europe, but Hong Long doesn't allow transit.

It has been possible to fly from Auckland to LA, and then from LA to London, but she didn't want to take this risk due to epidemiological situation in the US and England, and the prices were something like £3.000.

Today she booked the flight Wellington --> Melbourne --> Doha --> Copenhagen for August 18.

OMG ... that's chaotic. I hope the latest round of pot-luck works out.
Luckily for her New Zealand has been one of the best, safest, and most beautiful places to be during this pandemic, so she is fine. Her boyfriend is from New Zealand, she works there, and has a lot of Kiwi friends.

Also, University of Arts London, where she studies, has postponed the start of this academic year to mid October.

Unbelievable !! after just about 4 months our UK airports are to start swab testing arriving International travellers. But after almost 4 months this is due to commence in three weeks time. WTF is going on? why not start it tomorrow? This means aprox. 5,000 passengers with no medical evidence will once again walk freely into the UK. in that 3 week period. We must be the laughing stock of the world. And Johnson is scratching that blond head wondering why we became the highest death rate per population to deaths in the world.
They seem to be more interested in reducing the two metre distancing to one metre,(which no one observes now anyway.) and airport arrivals sit shoulder to shoulder in a aircraft.

Professor Matteo Bassetti, an infectious disease expert at the Policlinico San Martino hospital in Italy, says Covid-19 is becoming less deadly as it spreads and could die out before a vaccine is ready.

A doctor has claimed that coronavirus has weakened from being like a "tiger" to a "wild cat" and may even peter out without a vaccine.
The bug is becoming less deadly as it spreads, according to Professor Matteo Bassetti, head of an infectious diseases clinic at Italy's Policlinico San Martino hospital.
He told the Sunday Telegraph that he has recently seen elderly patients recovering who would have died earlier on in the pandemic.
"Even patients aged 80 or 90 are now sitting up in bed and breathing without help. The same patients would have died in two or three days before," Professor Bassetti said.

"It was like an aggressive tiger in March and April but now it’s like a wild cat."

The doctor says that at the height of Italy's Covid-19 pandemic in March and early April, patients frequently presented with an illness which was "very difficult to manage".
The sickest people often needed oxygen and ventilation, and some went on to develop pneumonia.
However, he says that in the past four weeks the picture has "completely changed".
This could be due to the virus mutating into a weaker form as it sweeps across the world.

Another theory is that social distancing measures and use of PPE such as face masks mean that people are being exposed to lower viral loads, and therefore becoming less ill.
This could even mean that the bug dies out before a vaccine is available, according to Prof Bassetti.

Doctor says Covid-19 'now wild cat not tiger' and may peter out without vaccine

The spread of Covid-19 is based on two factors:

1.How dense the population is.

2. How dense the population is.

Just a minute:

So what you're telling me is that my chance of surviving all this, is directly linked to the common sense of others?

If these last few weeks have taught us anything - it's that stupidity travels faster than any virus on the planet.

How long is this social distancing thing supposed to last? My wife keeps trying to get into the house!

So let me get this straight - there's no cure for a virus that can be KILLED by hand sanitiser and soap?

This Virus is in freefall again in various parts of the world, experts are now referring to it as 1st and 2nd waves, and it would seem the waves will continue if no vaccine is found.

Here it's one wave that is being amplified into a tsunami in the "stupid" states. In the "sane" states - NY, CT, NJ - where people do not act like ideological idiots but with sound common sense for the betterment of all ... we are down to <=1% of daily tests resulting in a positive. This has been our baseline for the past 3 weeks.

NY is perhaps seeing an uptick due to incoming of people from the stupid states and sprinkling virus around the city. Cuomo is dead worried about this and is now putting a mandatory 14-day quarantine on incoming from specific high risk states on penalty of fine.

Pennsylvania has apparently stopped incoming flights from California and perhaps other states. State borders are porous, which makes the enforcement of the quarantine mandate virtually impossible.

Annoys me that some companies are unashamedly cashing in on the virus. Been seeing full page newspaper ads by a so-called medical supplies company offering their products for sale. Like most people I wanted a mask(s) as I am particularly vulnerable. Anyway, they had re-usable black masks on offer with a vent to prevent fogging if you wore glasses.

Just the job, I thought, until I saw the price!! The shameless gits wanted £19.99 for a pack of 3 plus £2.95 postage. I decided to shop around online and found what looked to be identical masks in 3 packs on Ebay for just £7.00 with FREE DELIVERY. That's a saving of £15.94 on what looks like an identical item! The masks are GOOD quality, well made and do the job perfectly. Sure pays to shop around and deprive these profiteering bastards of some ill-gotten gains. Just think of single mums, pensioners and anyone on limited income; £15.94 is a lot of money to them and would force them either to use money earmarked for other things such as food, heating etc or do without any face protection whatsoever. I hope the company concerned goes bust in short order. Literally!

Sew a thin wire inside the upper seam of the mask. Then you can form it so it fits the shape of the nasal bridge. Easy and effective. Your glasses won't fog up anymore.

If your glasses still fog up, then put a little bit of shaving foam on them and clean them with some tissue paper.
