And on Friday I’ll definitely be all Star Spangled Banners with my grandsons 😊

Yesterday, in explaining the World Cup to my 8 year old and showing him my collection of signed soccer shirts, I had to point out that if he wanted he was qualified to play for Wales and the USA.

Okay, here's where I get pelters so fire away if you must but, after my 100% support for Wales, if we can't win it (which we won't) then I hope England do. I have a number of English friends and family (through marriage) and I know they will be supporting us, after England understandably. Given the present parlous state of the world and the open antipathy shown by Europe to us, I feel we Brits should stick together and say fcuk off to the lot of them.

Bellingham scores a peach. His first goal yet subdued celebration … what’s with that.

I just heard an English commentator on Fox TV say Stourbridge and Stowerbridge …. 🤦🏻‍♂️

it’s all strategic support to get Wales out of the group

I've jokes before that America will probably win the World Cup before England do again. I don't see a weak link on this England side, Pickford hasn't had to do much though. It was silent when Kane when down holding his ankle. Harry getting hurt would be gutting for them now. England should draw Ecuador or Sengal in the knockout stage, they should go far.

There would be some tears of joy if it does come home. Losing in the Euros and 2018 might have done wonders for them.

It's nice to see the younger kids scoring and the likes of Grealish and Rashford coming off the bench to score. Kane's drought is troubling.

It was a top performance by England who did what they had to do....... and more. They were professional about their approach and attitude and let's hope that Wales will be the same. Fcuk this underdog tag we seem to enjoy so much. We have ability and talent in our team, so let's go out with a touch of arrogance and show it. At our best we absolutely belong here; we don't want gallant performances and defeats, we want wins especially against teams ranked near us. Let's show our pathetic egg-chasing losers how to perform on the world stage.

FIFA World Rankings: USA #16. Wales #19.

It's a push ... but let's be honest. Wales play mostly European nations. USA plays the likes of Jamaica. Mexico being their toughest opponent in CONCACAF ranked #13. In the past year we've had to play Belgium (#2), Netherlands (#8), Poland (#26, but with Lewandowski). Not to say that FIFA's ranking system is off kilter but FFS let's get real.

We have the strongest squad. We have Bale and Ramsey (if he shows up). We have a great keeper. We have two great wing backs and so on. And we have a pretty strong bench in attacking terms.

It's going to be a tough game. But certainly we've faced far tougher this year. To qualify I expect us to dispatch the USA. Tough out a draw v England and then beat Iran ... like everybody else. A defeat or draw today ... not good.

From what I know, which isn't much, McKennie was not expected to start or play the full match. Their keeper has hardly played. Wales play much tougher opponents on a consistent basis, that's for certain. Their squad has 2 former Swans. There are 4 current Fulham players playing in this match. Very nervous, but Bale and Ramsey will test them.

Allen is on the bench. Ampadu playing his role.

Allen good enough to play but not a full 90. I hope his injury has healed well.

America has a very young squad, 2nd behind Ghana even with both Ayews. Wales has an advantage in experience.
