Tuesday night visit to Stoke .
I kin hate Stoke.
Lovely to see that they have just sacked their manager and are below us in the table .
Let's hope we give them a royal shafting !

Managerless like us but they've lost their last four on the bounce. Great chance for us to climb further away from the bottom but I'd like to see a lot more energy and commitment from us. I also want to see much more creativity with the lads eager to impress in readiness for the new guy whoever that may be. Not asking for much am I? Actually, I'm not. I'm asking us to perform like a team of professional footballers playing for their own pride and esteem let alone any other consideration. That should be a given but some of our lot need a sharp reminder about it.

It will be interesting to see Sheehan's team selection for this game. Did he learn anything from the last game?

First 15 minutes we've been okay showing some decent fluency in parts. But I wish we'd stop this infuriating habit of waiting for a pass to arrive instead of being proactive and going to meet it. All too often the defender has time to cover our player and often succeeds in nipping the ball away. It's a slow game but Stoke must be very nervous about losing it and will play that way. We shouldn't let them grow into the game and develop any confidence, which means upping the tempo to put pressure on them.

That's what we've become - a slow motion team. Our midfield don't support the attack enough and they don't help the defence enough. Neither do they create much. We are not fit enough as a team to both attack and defend in numbers, so we have to rely on odd moments of luck or inspiration to grab a goal. But we don't do it as part of a gameplan because we don't have one....... because we no longer have an identity. Call it Duff's legacy.
