THE RETURN OF SUNDERLAND

Will we make it 4 wins on the trot ?
Sunderland are up into 4th place , they have a good defence but are lacking in front of goal , they are dangerous on the counter and will enjoy the space provided by our wing backs pushing up high, our defence must be at the best for this one , if we can keep a clean sheet I can see us sneaking a 1-0 win out of what will be a tight game

I once remember Ivor scoring 4 goals against Sunderland in a 5-0 win at the Vetch - and one of them was a header! I had a close-up view standing behind the goal under the Double Decker. Tomorrow will be tougher for sure. I'm hoping for a narrow win, which we'll only get if the players maintain their recent form and focus for the entire game. Anything less and we won't win because manager Mowbray is a wily, experienced opponent.

Some interesting changes. Lati starts over Sorinola … not sure I’m good with this.

Cooper and Cundle return. Piroe goes #9.

Martin goes with substance over goals or is it fitness ?

I think it's good to rotate, give players rest, Naughton needs it, Obafemi and Ntcham can come on late if and when we need them. It's good for Cooper and Cuddle to start and get that confidence.

Good to see that Martin now appreciates Jay Fulton describing his turn-around as amazing. Seems that finally, like the rest of us, he now rates Jay and about time too! Gives us some very good options in midfield.

Btw, that header by Ivor was described in the match report as 'diving'. Well it was right under my nose and I would call it 'stooping'. Ivor was an incredible player, probably worth £50 million or even maybe much more in today's market and he has no bigger admirer than me. But a good header of the ball he was not. :)
