Anyone here watching Premier League games? What a title race this season. In the past 67 days the two top teams have exchanged top position between them 16 times. And if Liverpool don't win the title, they will be the first team in football history not to do that with probably only one loss over the course of a season. Imagine if they finish second with 97 points? Crazy.

It's all over for Cardiff if they lose to Brighton tomorrow.
Problem is that Brighton are imploding. Their confidence is shot and we often see a team fall out of the pack when everyone thought they were safe. Unfortunately, whatever else you say about Cardiff, they've got some fighters in their team and I've got a sneaking, horrible feeling that they just might turn Brighton over tomorrow. :(

Not only that Brighton are imploding, they have a terrible run of fixtures.

Here are Cardiff's fixtures:

Brighton need two draws to be safe, (one against Cardiff and another one against Newcastle) or one more win if they lose to Cardiff. Brighton also have a much better goal score than Cardiff.

As I feared, Cardiff lead Brighton 1-0 after 22 minutes. Let's hope that Brighton show some bottle and fight their way back into it. A draw wouldn't be the worst result for them but a win would open up a tidy gap.

I predicted this in my post #167. Say what you like about Cardiff they are at least a team of fighters and they are going to battle to the last - unlike our precious lot who slipped away without a whimper last season when well placed to stay up. We should have been home and hosed but the team lacked leaders, they lacked character and they lacked fight. As it happens, I think that our side then was far more talented than this Cardiff team and would probably have beaten them easily most times. But talent without work and attitude will only take you so far and it didn't take us far enough. It pains me to say it, but I have to be honest, given the position they've been in (not helped by some atrocious refereeing decisions), if Cardiff avoid relegation now, they will have deserved it. Our tame surrender and capitulation proved that we didn't. Now I'm heading for shelter!

Lets have your stats CJ. are they gonna go down?
Well, I am going to quote Potter:

'The league table does lie.'

Cardiff should have been higher up than they are right now. In more than one game (that Chelsea game where they were robbed) they haven't got results they deserved. And, in my opinion, they are a slightly better team than Brighton.

Stats for xG (expected goals) and xGA (expected goals against) show that Cardiff should have had at least 2 more points and Brighton at least one less point than they have now.

@ivoralljack rightly pointed out that when you have two almost equally bad teams, the team who fights more survives.

So, right now, my money is on Cardiff to survive.

Sterling's Man. City (winner) ruled offside by VAR. I think it's called Karma Pep. The old wheel goes around. Sterling scores a hat-trick (well almost) on the losing side
