Looking at the replay and thinking back over Piroe’s shots over many games, he rarely if ever hits one cleanly and drills it. They are are half pace, and bumping along the ground.

We're getting to see why Whittaker is League 1 star but Championship fail - easily pushed off the ball, poor first touch and not a lot of shooting finesse.
Very well taken goal by Piroe it must be said. Whittaker too feeble on this showing. He's a well built lad and should be stronger. On the whole a crap half from a crap team under a crap manager. Surely the second period can only be better because they are better than this,

To be honest I thought it was a foul and the referee chickened out for reasons best known to himself. Their guy played Whitts and not the ball, which he did not make contact with. He did make contact with Whittaker, so it has to be a foul. That does NOT come under the excuse that he was shielding the ball. Whitts was through. He was brought down. Red card.
