Vitor Campelos is the new name on the list @ivoralljack . From what I've read about him, he'd love to manage in the Championship.

"Having won promotion and taken a team to the brink of Europe, Campelos points out that the job he has done is "more or less what Marco Silva did at Estoril" so will his own career enjoy the same trajectory that has taken Silva to the Premier League?"

He has been linked in the media with a move to one of Silva's former clubs, Hull City, and is a follower of the Championship. "What I notice is that the teams who try to play better football are the teams that are in the better positions," he says.

"I am under pressure here because my contract finishes at the end of the season and the club wants me to renew for two years but some things can happen. I am always dreaming and I know that one day I will work in England because this is my dream."

Alan Nixon in the Sun saying that Martin is likely to raid us for Grimes and Fulton when he leaves.

Nixon also says that Serie A team, Salernitana very interested in Piroe at a price of £10 million. Thoughts anyone?

Grimes and Fulton have an option to go or to stay. Fulton has 3 years remaining on his contract. Grimes has 2. Why would Soton pay out money for players at the peak of their careers and probably not EPL material. The only reason Martin would want them is that they can play Martin's Madness and would help him indoctrinate the heathens at Soton.

Before we let anybody go from the Club, it is important to get the new manager on-board, complete his assessment and talk to the players about his project. G&F know what they would be walking into at Soton. They might not be up for another two years of that.

Grimes is on record as saying that he thinks Martin is the dog's bollocks, so he's likely to go if he hears his master's voice. Fulton may or may not be enticed but he knows he won Martin over and is likely to see solid game time. He might not with us under a different manager.

If they want to leave, there's nothing we can do to make them stay, but the club should demand £30m for all of them. Of course, at least £20 million should be reinvested in new players. You can buy 10 good players for £20 million. Piroe cost us about £2m when we signed him two years ago.

The question is whether the loss of so many first-team players can be regarded as a disaster at all. I think it depends on who comes in to manage us. When Marcelino Toral took over at Valencia in 2017, the club was in a deep crisis. He released around 19 first team players, did a complete housecleaning and signed many new players who could play his style of football. He brought stability to Valencia, took them to the Champions League for two successive seasons and won the Copa del Rey against Leo Messi's Barcelona.

WOL now quoting the Sun story about Piroe, Grimes and Fulton. So, is professional football journalism copy-catting other stories? I wonder if WOL bothered getting off their arses and tried to get a comment from the players involved?

Finally .... it's done. Martin appointed Men's First Team Manager | Southampton FC | News

Soton have even taken a Swansea pic and photoshopped in a Soton badge. Sleazy MFs.

Based on the Club's statement it seems to me that they took the low ball offer and will press their claim to an authority for the higher amount due under Martin's contract.

At least we know one team that will be below us next season.

This has to be the shortest statement the club has ever written about a manager leaving the club. And "thank you" sounds more like "f*** you".

I guess this was Martin's objective from the beginning. Well he's got his wish and it remains to be seen how his squad reacts to his suicidal defensive football.

Now the hunt for Red October can begin in earnest. It's going to take a couple of weeks minimum to identify and make an offer to the best candidate, longer if we have to negotiate a release from another club, which is going to take us past the report back date. KOL and somebody else is going to have to lead the way and prepare players for the first pre-season match. Not ideal!!!

In the meantime, players can figure out their allegiances as I'm sure agents and players are going to get tapped up in short order. We should delay releasing any players until after the new manager arrives and assesses the situation ... especially if it's to Soton. We can drag our feet too.

And Coleman speaks: Club update | Andy Coleman | Swansea

On point and let's see if the words are backed up by a selection. We have often been blind sided by the selection of new managers ... nobody expected Laudrup, nor BoBo ... two ends of a spectrum. And I'm pretty sure Martinez, Sousa and Rogers were just as surprising when they materialized.

So how much are they paying for him? We need some positive news soon, start with the gaffer and hopefully start signing players.

Buy cheap, you'll get poor quality. He's going to want to bring his entourage of back room boys with him. Who has vetted them. Are they any good. We're not just hiring one person. When Sousa and Rogers came in they adopted the back room staff that we had in place ... basically Curtis and the other guy I can't remember that followed Rogers to 'Pool.
