Like I said at the beginning a strange line-up and shape cost us yet again. The Asoro sub was mostly a waste. Yes he got us a lucky penalty but with Dyer and CBR and McB and Narsingh on the bench why o why did we have to bring a kid with nothing to offer onto the field.

Like Asoro and McKay?
You miss my point, CJ. Potter HAD to bring in the likes of those two and take a chance on them because the liars didn't make funds available to buy decent quality players as they promised to. There's no way Potter would have signed them had he had any money to buy reasonable quality players - hence my wish for them to fcuk off so we can get owners who WILL make some funds available. Some stats from the game:

Possession 61-39 Shots: 19-9 OT: 5-3 Corners: 6-4 Fouls: 12-5 GOALS: 2-1

Comfortable enough for Leeds, who could have won by more, whilst we only seemed to perform in patches. Interesting foul count. Looks as though Leeds were prepared to get physical to stop us when we did threaten..... which wasn't often. One thing is certain: this Swans side is NOT good enough to realistically challenge the play off places unless some players dramatically up their games. Don't see it, so I'm not getting my hopes up. We are limited.

As for Oli's penalty, it was fcuking rubbish and he got lucky. The way he hit it meant it was down to a 50/50 chance as to whether the keeper guessed right. He guessed wrong this time but had he gone the other way he would have gobbled it up. Penalty kicks should offer you damned sight better odds than evens and no way should Oli be taking the pens if that's all he can offer.

With the bench as it was and the subs that were used .... exactly how beat up are the likes of McB, CBR, Dyer to see Asoro and Narsingh come off the bench.

My take on the match is that a full strength Swans playing our best system would have beaten Leeds. Although I have to credit Leeds for working their butts off to buzz around like a swarm of bees. Whenever we had the ball at least two Leeds players came on hard to press, contain, challenge ... and too often win the ball. It resembled men against boys at times.

I disagree Ivor. For £3,3 m (Asoro, McKay and John) you can buy better quality in Scandinavia, Eastern Europe and even Spain. We were used to pay stupid money in transfer fees when we were in the Premier League that we are now forgetting what we should be paying for whilst in the Championship. Norwich top goalscorer Teemu Pukki was signed on a free transfer from Brøndby in the last summer transfer window. I don't think he got more than £1m in sign-on-fee. 21 goals scored in return. Laudrup payed £2 m for Michu, £2 m for Chico and something like £500.000 for Pozuelo. I know that was seven years ago, but still. £500.000 for a player in Danmark, Croatia, Poland etc. is a huge money for their clubs. And not only you can get quality there, you can get experience as well. 24 - 26 years old players, ideal for the Championship.

Potter has had a decent squad but he hasn't used them. We had five wingers at the start of the season, why buy two more? Dyer and Routledge are more than capable of playing at this level. I know that the long term plan is to get rid of of the high earners and promote the players from the academy but all of this could have been done gradually. I feel that we have lost many points during the first half of the season by experimenting and chopping and changing. In the beginning of the season our priority was a quality striker, a left back and another creative midfielder. I think we have wasted money on two more wingers.

Yes, that's where we need to improve. In modern football you can't be a top team if you don't work hard and press high.

Leeds didn’t just Press high. They pressed all over the park, as and whenever they could.
Yes, you have to if you press high, otherwise it doesn't make sense. :) Barca, Man City and Liverpool are good examples, they chase you all over the pitch. Hard work, hard work, Monk used to say :ROFLMAO:

Let’s just forgive GP his occasional flights of fancy. No harm done and another what if scenario sent to the dung heap. He did it all the time in Sweden.
