The harm of losing 3 points is real. We are a club in a highly competitive league not a laboratory for experiment. We won't get promotion through experimentation. Promotion can only be achieved by having a single system, have every player super schooled in it to the point where it becomes autonomic, and executing it in every game. And, having players athletic enough to play the system. How many of our players could command a position in last night's Leeds' team. How many could play that system, at that tempo, for 90 minutes ..... Roberts, James, Grimes, perhaps Naughton. The others are too physically fragile or don't have that kind of engine. And, even with all that ... as was the case with Rogers you need some good luck on your side.

We started this season in July with a squad that could have won this league going away We pissed that away ... players wanting away is one thing, club not willing to invest in a quick return is another. We retained players (Bony) that didn't really have a prayer of becoming a regular contributor or a part time contributor for that matter. We tossed three senior players out the door in January, almost gave away a future "star" in James, and added no quality in return. We have squandered this season by tossing points away needlessly with experimentation instead of being true to ourselves and grinding out a result. Where will we be in July. Better yet, where will be allowed by owners to be in July. What players can we retain in July/August. Anybody want to bet on who we will add ... more Asoro / McKay types.

Leeds played faster and were more dirty. They played aggressive and I can't fault them for that. Knew it was going to be a brutal match. This team is nothing without a scorer in McBurnie. Without Fer and a midfield we are easily taken apart. Game might have been different with those 2 starting but not by much.

To be fair, when you look at the squad and the players available, what would you have done ?
When you build a city out of Lego bricks you have to use the parts in the box. If you have not got the right part you have to make do with the bits left at the bottom ......
Potter cannot get the bits at the bottom to fit, but they are all he has left to play with.

He could have given CBR and McB 45 minutes each. He could have sub'd on Dyer instead of Asoro. He could have left James on for 60 and then brought McKay off the bench. He could have used Conner/Naughton as FBs and Grimes in midfield from the start instead of Grimes with Naughton/Conner doing some switcheroo on the right. There are plenty of things he could have done that would have played better to our proven strengths, which is why I questioned several posts above about the condition of CBR, McB, Dyer etc .... how banged up are they? Did Potter really have a choice? Was pulling shit out of thin air his only option? There are times when you to grind out a win or a point but that's best done playing to your strengths.

Bottom line ... Leeds were clearly the fitter team playing with a purpose and that will always beat a less fit team trying to figure out what the guy next to them is trying or going to do next or even where he is. The figuring out part is the part that really needs to be avoided because once you have uncertainty about where and what your team mates are about then you're fucked at the drive through.

Not having watched the game in its entirety I can't comment too much. But I have been trawling the net for feedback on our performance, both from journos and the fans' comments. They were scathing. No other word to describe it. As I have already stated this team is limited, even when we can play all our big hitters. Sure, we can win our share but we have nowhere enough consistency to mount a realistic challenge for the top six.

As others have said, and I permanently comment, we do not possess sufficient physicality, stamina or athleticism in our squad and are easily bullied out of games we could otherwise win had we those attributes to call on. And it doesn't help when some players phone in a performance, as too many did last night. It seems they turned up and went through the motions having decided there was little chance of winning.

Potter has to take his share of the responsibility. His team selection and substitutions often leave me baffled and the team's attitude is definitely down to him and his staff. But then I fully accept that he is playing with a short deck and has to make do and mend with what he's got.

We were once a respected Premier League outfit whose football was widely admired. Now, at best, we are nothing more than a mid table, average Championship side that might well struggle against a further relegation next season. This is all down to the Wanks, aided and abetted by people we once regarded as our own. In my opinion, they are all nothing more than lying thieves whose only interest is in the amount of money they can strip from the club before moving on and leaving the dying carcass of a once proud club to rot. I pray with all that's in me that the Trust can haul the lot of them into court, expose them for what they are and make them pay for all the lies, deceit and broken promises that have brought us to this.

The only "excuse" for last night is that the execs have written off this season but see a potential cash cow in the FA cup in future rounds so that they are leaning / commanding Potter to prioritize the cup over the league. Potter therefore prioritizes selection for Saturday.
