Do we have a history with this lot or what?
  • Going back to the days of the old Division 2.
  • Then Ivor's testimonial in 1968 when Revie brought the entire 1st XI to the Vetch to play against a Swans team that included John Charles. We lost 3-2 with John and Ivor scoring our goals ... Ivor's of course was a classic, with a retired Big John making Jack Charlton look like a statue on a cross from the right wing in the process ... was that from Len making a guest appearance. Whoever it was did a number on Terry Cooper to put over the cross.
  • Then FA cup ties ... e.g. the early 70's with Mel Nurse getting sent off at Elland Road when that bar steward Alan Clarke got the better of him.
  • Then the L1 match 11 years ago at the Liberty on Boxing Day when we beat them with 10 men.
Today is another potential classic. I'm banking on Dan and Byers (man, does he remind me of Robbie) to be the crucial goals with Celina polishing them off.

I seem to remember something about Ivor thanking the Leeds team with a prezzie (clock?) and some cash. I believe the story goes that Billy Bremner collected all the cash from his team mates and handed it back to Ivor. Bremner was never my favourite person but if that story is true then it was a great gesture.

Revie always had a very high regard for Ivor. I'm sure the players shared it

Not many. My comms saying that Leeds are cruising this without too many problems. I hope to God that we can get rid of those lying shysters so that Potter can bring in some quality. We need LEADERS, players to drive the others on and get on their case when they just go through the motions. I'm getting the impression from listening that we were beaten before we set foot on the pitch tonight.
