Rotherham away , will we see a change under our temporary coach ?

Happy for the 3 points …. But we beat the bottom team reduced to 10 men for 80+ minutes by one goal. Could we have labored it anymore. WTF are we doing.

And even crazier is that despite Duffer and this belabored victory we are still only 6 points from the playoff places. I can see why Coleman pulled the trigger when he did. A simple calculation, can Duff make up the 6 points and put us into the playoffs …. Hell No. Done with Duffer. Coleman is fighting for promotion.

6 points from the playoff places, we have fallen so far, still 26 matches left to play. We struggled a bit too much against the worst side down to 10 men. The next manager has to turn things around. Every aspect of the team needs to improve except maybe the keeper.

:ROFLMAO: :LOL::ROFLMAO:

Sorry, couldn't resist.
This sorry lot and promotion?
🤣🤣🤣 indeed. But you know, you never know, and a good ass-kicking, the return of Allen et al, and intelligent selection and match management and we could easily bridge that gap and stick it at the end of the season … then who knows.

I think this is what Coleman and his Sporting Director see. They see a fighting chance and don’t see a fat lady anywhere

And let’s be honest, other than Leicester and whoever the second team is, has any other team impressed enough to give us cause for concern.

Under the circumstances this was a game we should have won and did. But, despite the favourable stats, it was a victory that was ground out rather than one achieved with style and comfort. Whoever gets our job it seems it'll take some time to get our football back to the level it once was. However, one thing is certain, and that is these players have to start showing some character. Maybe, as @jackodiamonds has pointed out, that will come as they gain more confidence. Let's hope we're not too far gone to do it. Some stats:

POSSESSION: 30-70 SHOTS: 7-19 OT: 3-9 CORNERS: 6-11 FOULS: 9-9 GOALS: 1-2

Stoke up next and they are below us in the table so will also be fighting for points. The game should be a good indication if we're moving away from Duffball. I sincerely hope so.

"We got the result we needed but you do wonder if we'd have won without the red car. I guess we'll never know.

The game today shows that our problems run far deeper than Michael Duff; we need major squad surgery in Jan regardless of who the next boss is." - mphemmens, WalesOnline comment section.

Agreed.

Absolutely! And I would start by appointing a stronger character than Grimes as captain. I have nothing whatsoever against the guy but I feel that we need someone more demanding, someone more of a leader. That said, no one in the squad exactly jumps out at me right now. We seem to have a squad devoid of any personalities and I think that could be one of the root causes of our situation.

Positives:

1. Excellent to see some top quality crosses being put in: Fulton to Bolasie where the latter should've scored at the far post; Paterson to Patino for our first goal; and Key to Yates for our second.

2. Many shots and shots on target. Darling is proving that his goal last season from 35 yards out was not a fluke.

3. Good dynamism in attack with Patino in attacking midfield, Bolasie and Paterson on the wings, Lowe up top, and Fulton going forward more often.

4. Key is a good player. When is Pedersen back from injury?

5. We created 4 or 5 big chances, which is excellent.

6. Passing accuracy was high, 86%.

Any negatives? ... for me, just one in general, our last point quality was sadly lacking, otherwise we could / should have scored quite a few more.

I am not sure whether Pedersen is back on the grass yet.
