Unfortunately wrong. :) But the answer does lie in the actual structure of the words. Only one word fails to meet the required criteria.

Thanks. There is a poser column in the Times on Saturday which has two literal and one mathematical teasers. I don’t go near the maths, but I’m really chuffed if I get anywhere solving the others. Keeps the brain fit. As for the body……….

Yes, it's important to keep the grey matter ticking over as we get older. I have The Sun paper delivered everyday which is good for sport and footy. But I also like to do the coffee-time crossword which I try to complete before I finish my ciggie, along with a nice cuppa as well. Once I've done that there's a thing called the word wheel where you have 9 letters and have to find as many 4+ letter words as possible using one particular designated letter every time. Nothing too taxing but it oils the mind. There's also some basic mathematical puzzles on the same page which I'm quite good at.
