We have our destiny in our hands. We have quality in the squad to realize that destiny. It is going to require us to strive for a perfect series of results. Automatic promotion may very well demand that we achieve that, but vulnerabilities exist within Brentford and Norwich, vulnerabilities that we do not share. Their moments of oh shit will offset ours.
Our defense is second to none, despite its youthful composition ... FFS Andy Pandy do NOT step away from our core strength to accommodate a 3rd forward. Stay true to the shape that has brought us to this point.
We have added quality to the squad during the window. Our midfield is now contributing goals. Our wing backs are still contributing assists. We have a trio in Ayew, Lowe, Whittaker that have the tools to capitalize on our stronger midfield and wing backs. At this point, in fairness to Morris, coming to us in the middle of a long MLS close season, whatever he contributes is a valuable bonus.
Our undoing lies in being unfaithful to our shape, injuries and suspensions ... luck and match officials are par for the course

At least it's in our own hands ..... for now. Let's hope that we don't become complacent or, even worse, freeze. It would be a good start to beat Forest on Wednesday and if we can replicate the score in the last game, we'd do our goal difference a world of good.

I qualified my comment a sentence later with acknowledgement that Morris through circumstances came to us ill-equipped to hit the ground running. His contribution will come on-line as does his match fitness. This would be an added bonus, and not immediately countable.Corrected:

He IS immediately countable. We need his pace. We haven't had a player with such a pace since Dan James left. He has techique and for a striker he is an excellent passer. If I was in charge I would sign him permanently NOW.

No need to take that risk - he might get injured, prove to be chronically unfit, be an asshole in the dressing room, get homesick, start screwing Steve Cooper's wife, or some other unspeakable act. Just wait and, if indicated, enact the signing clause at the end of the season.
