Huddersfield

Last game against them (Liberty) we contrived to lose 1-2 in an ill-tempered game of 34 fouls. We outshot them 17-10 and had 15 corners, yet still lost. We CANNOT afford to lose tomorrow (Watford just scored, 1-0 as I type with a flukey goal the scorer knew fuck all about :( ) if we are to maintain our impetus - and Watford just got a second.

What's definite is that we have to put in a far better performance than we did in that nightmare against Forest where we looked more like a relegation threatened team rather than one 'fighting for promotion. If the players aren't prepared to play with more urgency, as if it mattered, then Cooper has to be ruthless and kick their arses out of the team, whoever they are. There's too much at stake to accomodate anyone who can't be bothered.

Can we do it? Depends which team decides to turn up (or not!). At our best we win one or two nil; if we repeat Wednesday's farce, we lose. Simple as.

I think we'll definitely be more up for this one than Forest.

Forest are a decent side who we just pipped last year into the playoffs. They are having an off season but with Hughton in charge now I think they'll finish in a respectable midtable position. Huddersfield look the opposite, they can score but they have a very weak mentality so if we can get ourselves ahead early we should be able to get a few. Huddersfield are 23 out of 24 in the form table only above Birmingham due to 1 GD better.

I think it's important for teams to have a game where you get startled by the opposition. It's the ability to overcome that challenge, grab a point or 3 and let that be a lesson to keep in your mind that it's never easy. That match for me vs Forest was a blip, we had a week off and thought we could just show up. We got lucky but are now aware that anything less than a top performance and we could lose any match. I think all the players have been made aware of this now so we should be in a good position tomorrow.

Would like Watford to lose tonight but we have 3 games in hand over them if they win tonight so plenty of points for us to grab and jump ahead of them should they do so.

Brentford now just one point in front with a one goal better GD having played 3 more games. If that's not motivation to go for it today, I don't know what is. BUT a word of caution. Coventry's win now puts pressure on Huddersfield at the bottom, so they'll be going for it too. We must really put in an effort today and keep at it from first to last to get the win we need.

Brentford have now lost three in a row, and they still have to play Norwich away. We are in a great position to create a gap at the top. But that requires better passing accuracy and better pressing.

Brentford lost again?? And to Coventry City? I hope we never have a poor form like that this season. We've done very well to avoid it this season. What is happening in posh west London?

That is a big gift to us. Even I thought they were certain to win the League. They still can but we're looking like the better side now. Trunds tonight.

We are too sloppy with our passing both in the midfield and the final third.
We give possession away all the time.
Luckily for us Huddersfield are poor.
