Sounds like we should get a pretty good idea who's gonna be starting to start the season based off tonight's lineup.​

As he's made him captain, it seems that Potts has a role in mind for Routledge. But I think that Routs will have his work cut out to keep his place if the young guns start performing well. If Potts is looking for a fast, mobile strike force, we have to remember that Routs has lost at least a yard of pace in recent seasons. Maybe his experience will earn him a pick but I think he's got it all to do. We seem to be well blessed with wide men but then we might need them all with the number of fixtures we have to play.

If people move around him Routs loss of pace will not hurt him. It's the problem of players imitating statues that causes problems.
Passes are read and intercepted, but Routs can play decent one touch football. It is not always his fault when he gives the ball away

Not bad starting lineup, even with Routs. Glad to see Dhanda starting and seems like Potts is really gonna look at Grimes at lb which should be interesting.

I would have swapped in Asoro for one of Routs/Jeff. Take your pick.

I hope Jordan not being involved is just the knock and doesn't mean he's off...

I think it has more to do with Olsson not being available due to World Cup duties and not having a recognized backup LB. I hope we get that sorted because Grimes does not have the pace to deal with wingers.

I agree he's not looking at him for first choice but makes me think they aren't going to be buying another in the next week or so if Potter likes what he sees or maybe irrespective of what he sees.
