Still fuming over that idiot/bent referee (take your pick). How much of an impact will that shady decision have on us come the end of the season?

Some stats:

POSSESSION: 58-42 SHOTS: 9-10 OT: 4-2 CORNERS: 6-4 FOULS: 10-17 GOALS: 1-1

I notice our foul count is considerably more than theirs, which makes a change. Maybe indicative of the officials' attitude to us in this game. As poor as that decision was though, take time to shake your head in disbelief at that absolutely appalling one made in the United/Chelsea game where Maguire appeared to throttle his man before dragging him to the ground. Every opinion I've heard and read since, condemn what a disgraceful decision it was not to have been a penalty - and that was with VAR (Stuart Atwell) in operation as well.

Even ex referee Mark Halsey condemned the decision accusing referee Martin Atkinson of HAVING DOUBLE STANDARDS. Excuse me, does this not imply that Atlinson was cheating? This is an ex ref here making an accusation against one of his own, which should carry significant weight with the powers-that-be. We like to think that match officials are fair and unbiased; and as soon as accusations surface about them being otherwise, those making the claims are ridiculed as being conspiracy theorists. But we KNOW for a fact that referees DO cheat. So, what are the authorities going to do about this one? A very lengthy ban followed by an equally lengthy probation period would be my answer but I doubt any action at all will be taken.
