This is it. Woulda / coulda / shoulda ... RIP 2021-22. This is a 12:30 pm (UK) kick-off.
One more game of hit or miss, boom or bust. QPR are just ahead of us in the table, but we're locked into 10th or lower at best due to GD. Unless, QPR are on some fancy bonus scheme, there's nothing in it for them either.
What will Martin do today? Will Congreve get another start. Is Bennett going to get resurrected. Are we going to see Burns in an attempt to introduce quality defending into our back line.
Of the players currently with us the following are out of contract (Swansea City - Contracts expiring in 2022):
Wolf and Christie are not ours. I would sign Wolf given a chance. Christie ... I'm not that fussed over. Frankly, neither are that good defensively and really don't have a fraction of the stamina and work rate of Bidwell/Roberts to really play the WB role ... although that might be a bit harsh on Wolf. He may have it in him to develop in that area.
Dhanda became the season's missing person. I hear the local cops are still out looking for him. Will he play tomorrow I wonder. I'd like to see him one last time in front of Grimes and Downes and with Congreve and Piroe. I'd like to see Fulton also, but where to stick him ... why not CB with Burns and Naughton ... could this setup possibly do worse than the capitulation at Bournemouth.
At least we'll say goodbye to Hamer; this gives Benda another opportunity ... surely after another season of regular football he has to be better than Fisher. BTW, Fisher has a contract until 2026, WTF, who thought that was a good idea.
We haven't offered Smith a contract so that seals his fate.
