WIGWAM AT THE LIBERTY

As Max Boyce memorably sung at the Wigan game in our first season in the Premier league , "Wigan have a super team - but they play rugby league !"
That's still true today as Wigan are struggling badly this season .
I expect us to overrun them and notch up a comfortable 3 - 0 win .
Grimes not playing will allow someone else to dictate play in midfield, let's hope they play quicker and a bit more direct than Grimes !

No Grimes ... intriguing how Martin will fill the gap/role. Fulton is a dead certain starter. Cooper has to play. Cundle has to play.

Do we need two holding midfield players or can we let Fulton do his thing with Flex being added. Maybe Fulton/Cooper or Fulton/Cundle will solve the problem

The most obvious choice to replace Grimes would be Naughton, but he hasn't played well lately.

It's time to give Brandon Cooper and Nathan Wood a chance to play together at the back.

We could play 4-1-4-1 with Fulton in the defensive midfield, Cooper and Cundle behind Piroe (or Obafemi or Cullen), Oko-Flex on the right, and Paterson on the left wing. Manning and Sorinola as full-backs. This line-up would give us a lot of pace.

To bring B.Cooper out of the U21, where he last played, would be a big balls move on the part of Martin and a big kick up the rear end to Darling and Cabango, In the games that B.Cooper has played for the first team, he has never once looked as weak or as fragile as Darling. Against Preston, Cabango was sloppy and slow. Darling for the past two starts has made a series of blunders that illustrate his lack of quality. It’s pet over performer in the case of Darling v B.Cooper.

Martin is pushing for new contracts for Manning and Lati. Manning is a definite. Lati …. Not so much imo - for me he falls into the category of can’t we find better, don’t we have better.

Martin is finally realizing that vim and vigor must compliment technical quality in this league … whether through luck or judgement it’s a step forward.

Strong attacking lineup , surprise to see Latibeaudiere given the captains arm band , I would have thought given the lineup that Fulton would be skipper for the day . Latibeaudiere playing in back three with Wood and Cabango .

didnt see the “C” on Lati … would have thought this would be given to Fulton. High expectations on Lati today. Let’s hope he has the character to rise to the occasion … be bold, be dominant.

I think you have Cooper on that lineup twice, unless that is his brother. It's our first match without Grimes in awhile, isn't it?
