Who said you can't score if the opponent has the ball???70% possession and lost 3-0...….unbelievable
You can if Nordfeldt is in goal. He was culpable for all 3 goals last night.Who said you can't score if the opponent has the ball???
I think the stats substantiate what your saying Yankee, Them 30% possession 17 attempts at goal, us 70% possession 15 attempts, and I would assume one of them was the penalty."Better sides" don't lose 3-0. "Better sides" might lose 1-0 on a fluke goal, but they don't lose by 3-0, maybe 3-2 etc.. Let's not kid ourselves. We look pretty, but we're pretty awful at putting the ball in the net, pretty awful at playing at a tempo that forces the other team to make mistakes, foul or chase shadows. Last night was an attack / defense practice match in which the defenders just needed to monitor space around them and adjust minimally, and we stood around like ornaments instead of buzzing like a swarm of bees. Defenders weren't that stressed really ... and WBA showed their class by putting ball in the net when given the chance and taking advantage of weakness. We have a soft underbelly in our box. We have two decent CBs backed by a keeper who has no spine whatsoever and limited technique. There are keepers in the Welsh League that have more of a clue on how to handle crosses.
Nordfeldt has reaction speed. This is his only asset as a keeper and it's what allows him to look smart by blocking ... but technically with his hands he's a joke. There is one clear example in the second half where he actually came for a cross because no other player was going for it. Instead of taking it cleanly in both hands and then hugging it to his chest ... which should be an autonomic technique at this level ... he pawed it down, let it bounce in front of him and then grabbed it ... WTF is that.
