James just fouled and the commentator is going ape shit about the referee. Called him a muppet, said he's an absolute joke then asked what is he on? How do we always get these incompetent idiots?

3-0 we are a delusion of a football team. The very essence of powder puff stuff. No bite. No fthreat. No idea. No danger of scoring if we played to midnight or beyond.

Ridiculous!! We are losing a game 0-3 that we could easily be winning according to the commentator. Just one of those nights I suppose because it sounds as though the lads have played well but just can't finish to save their lives. Seems to me that Potter should make sure that the strikers and midfield get ongoing and intensive shooting practise.

When we are supposed to be a passing team, we need tempo. Without it, it’s a practice game of attack and defense where the defense dominates. If we practice at this level of tempo then it’s not surprising that’s what we get in a game.

City are going to take us a part.

Should have been 5:1 up already in the beginning of the second half. How on earth could we miss all those chances??? And that comical penalty kick :mad::mad:. What was that?

We totally outplayed WBA and only poor finishing prevented us to trash them. And I mean TRASH them. We should have scored SIX goals.

Oh, and I forgot something. We need a better goalkeeper who can dominate his six yards box. Someone like Tremmel. Nordfeldt is simply not good enough.

Some stats:

Possession: 30 - 70 Shots: 17 -15 OT: 5-6 Corners: 4-4 Fouls: 10-5 GOALS: 3-0

Perhaps this was a tale of two keepers and a missed penalty. Oh, and an idiot referee. Their keeper played out of his skin and kept a clean sheet. Ours made a couple of decent saves but also presented them with at least one goal. A lot of our possession was meaningless because despite the 30-70 ratio we had two FEWER shots on goal than them. That said, our accuracy was far better but their keeper kept us out.

I think this was just one of those games where it was not meant to be for us - particularly when you consider Celia's comedic penalty. That would have brought us back in the game: even more so as Dawson should have been sent off for the foul. Why was he not? The referee had much to answer for and my commentator was apopletic about some of his decisions. "What's he on?" "Muppet." "Absolute joke." And this was an English local who covered the game for Swansea Sound.

Everywhere I read, the message is the same - we were the better side and deserved to win. Even the WBA people conceded this. But it goes to show that some nights you just can't win, especially when you have officials like we did.

PS: Message to Potter. Play your BEST keeper against Citeh and that means Mulder!!!!!!!!!!!!

"Better sides" don't lose 3-0. "Better sides" might lose 1-0 on a fluke goal, but they don't lose by 3-0, maybe 3-2 etc.. Let's not kid ourselves. We look pretty, but we're pretty awful at putting the ball in the net, pretty awful at playing at a tempo that forces the other team to make mistakes, foul or chase shadows. Last night was an attack / defense practice match in which the defenders just needed to monitor space around them and adjust minimally, and we stood around like ornaments instead of buzzing like a swarm of bees. Defenders weren't that stressed really ... and WBA showed their class by putting ball in the net when given the chance and taking advantage of weakness. We have a soft underbelly in our box. We have two decent CBs backed by a keeper who has no spine whatsoever and limited technique. There are keepers in the Welsh League that have more of a clue on how to handle crosses.

Nordfeldt has reaction speed. This is his only asset as a keeper and it's what allows him to look smart by blocking ... but technically with his hands he's a joke. There is one clear example in the second half where he actually came for a cross because no other player was going for it. Instead of taking it cleanly in both hands and then hugging it to his chest ... which should be an autonomic technique at this level ... he pawed it down, let it bounce in front of him and then grabbed it ... WTF is that.

I think the stats substantiate what your saying Yankee, Them 30% possession 17 attempts at goal, us 70% possession 15 attempts, and I would assume one of them was the penalty.

Here's a video of the highlights. As Wyndham said, it was just one of those nights. Look, in open play we mullered them and on another night could have got 5 or 6. We created some good chances but their keeper with a mixture of skill and good luck denied us. I'd be more concerned had we not created anything but we looked lively and dangerous in attack. We would benefit from more bodies in the box at times though.

There's no doubt that Nordy is a liability and his pathetic attempt to deal with the corner for their second is something he should be ashamed of. He never got off the ground and didn't even use his hands ffs!! Just awful and Mulder has to return. It won't take much to tweak this team. Rodon and Fer are set to come back and if we could find a striker who knows the meaning of the word, we could be in business. But not this season.

If we can keep this team together and add a couple of experienced players, I would be pretty optimistic about our prospects next season.

How far offside was the third goal?
Nordfeld should never be picked again.
We need to learn how to put the laces through our shots, sadly their keeper had a good day.
