Very remiss of me because I didn't mention the support from our fans today. They were brilliant!! Never stopped chanting from first to last and left the team in no doubt that they were behind them. Great to hear and well done them.

First half performance was ok.
Second half our midfield were nonexistent.
We were very lucky that Preston were so poor. I am encouraged by the fact we have two wins out of two. We will have 3 out of three next week. Leeds will stuff us if we do not sharpen up the midfield pressure.

Possibly Potts didn't risk Montero for that reason. It was an unexpected result under the circumstances .As if Potts initially said when he arrived, give me the tools and I'll do the job.Yesterday he said take the tools off me and I'll still do the job.

I tell you what, our youngsters showed more commitment, enthusiasm, and drive than anything we saw from our highly paid, recently departed players of last season. Long may it continue.
I hope we can work the loan market in the next two weeks and get at least 3 players in to boost the squad, centre back, midfield, and striker.

I think in Jenkins' eyes they'll have to be freebies, I don't see how he's got the gall to look Potter in the face. A Judas of the first order. A now proven 'yes' man to the yanks. If he thought anything of the club he would have told the yanks to 'Go f#ck themselves, and not expect him to rape it.(Again) and resigned.

Great post JF - I so hope you’re right I was just scrolling through the numbers of managers and the journey we’ve had whilst I was listening in yesterday - I have absolutely no idea why Huw Jenkins thinks it’s acceptable to still be involved in our club - and that’s just on the manager swapping basis - I truly hope we have a mutually rewarding experience with GP - we are due some luck and some badly needed stability.
I read a twitter post earlier - the squad trading banter about yesterday’s match - just this augers well - and may be the change GP’s radical management style will foster - NO PRIMA DONNAS - just the TEAM and the call out was oioifortheboys

Love that - long may it continue then moving back to the prem will simply be a bi-product of great mentality leading to brilliant football; it’s played first in the mind - then on the pitch
COYS!!!

I am sure we would have seen Montero in the last 30 minutes had it not been for that injury to Nordfeldt. Potts hands were tied and his decision to bring Fer in was right, we needed more bodies in midfield.

The question is: Why did we stop playing in the second half? Why did we lose concentration? Why was our passing so bad in the second half?

Your right LGG. Past few seasons we've seen ourselves with players who've assumed they were above the manager and knew better. (true in one or two instances) Now I think we have a squad that respect their manager and his past achievements, and as you say no Prima Donnas.I think the last time we had a manager that commanded 100% respect was Laudrup, never asked them to do anything he couldn't do himself.
