QPR

Starting this thread early to give an idea what we will face in a few days time. QPR took Cardiff apart with a display of power, flair and pass and move football. Look at the bodies in the box when they attack; often 5 or 6 with others hanging on the edge of the box. If we allow them that sort of freedom and licence they will take us apart as well. They are fast, well drilled and up for it making our average displays looking like we're in reverse!! We'd better be up for this game as well.

That said, Cardiff also had their chances and the highlights didn't, of course, show the full flow of the game. Reading reports, it seemed as though Cardiff weren't actually that bad overall but missed good chances whereas QPR netted most of theirs. But QPR can be got at at the back meaning that attack might be our best form of defence. Whatever, I hope our 'Holy Trinity' will study QPR in depth and come up with a viable battle plan otherwise.......

With VdH out through injury and Wilmot not able to play due to a stipulation in his loan agreement (what stupid BS is that by the way) we only have Cabango as a full senior player. Will Brandon Cooper be called up for his first appearance or will we put Naughton or Bidwell in the backline?

Not sure I care too much about a cup run; at least not at the expense of our league form (which is surprisingly good over the past 5 games, 3 wins and draw and a loss). A win would be nice for the prize money but I definitely wouldn't like a draw.

Going to be a tough game but I think we can take it by a goal.

Potter would play 3 at the back with two holding midfield players and two up the middle and a couple of speedsters on the flanks. The 3 would be Cabango, Grimes, Naughton. With John and Roberts as the wing backs. Fulton in midfield as anchor and then we'd litter the rest of the field with speed and effort - Routs, Kalulu, Ayew, etc.

But ... ... we have Andy Pandy, so who knows WTF will happen. The only thing we know for sure is that it will not be innovative or inspirational in anyway.

Well let's hope they get involved in a replay way up north then. That won't help their league campaign. With the team we'll have out I'm not optimistic about our chances either tbh. But if we can squeak a draw (unlikely) at least we'll have them on home turf.

Cardiff only draw vs Carlisle and have a nice journey up there to come.

We should play U23 tomorrow and let the other Championship teams use their energy on the FA Cup.

Birmingham, Millwall, Hull, Brentford, Wednesday and Fulham are all through to the next round. Bristol, Cardiff and Reading have replays to think about.

We are almost reduced to U23 given injuries and exclusions.
Borja, Peterson, Routs, Dhanda, Kalulu, Fulton, McKay, John, Carroll and Nordfeldt can play. Rushesha right-back, Cooper & Evans centre-backs, De Boer & Evans midfielders, Cullen attacker.

4-2-3-1

Nordfeldt

Rushesha - Cooper - Cameron Evans/Fulton - John

Fulton/Jack Evans- Carroll

Peterson - Dhanda/Routs - Kalulu/McKay

Borja

I guess we don’t want to stay in the cup.

Cooper starts, not alongside Cobango or another academy CB, but alongside Bidwell.

The irony that this scramble of a line-up could succeed, if they do without much input from Andy Pandy. They can only go out and play to the best of their ability and self organize on the fly,

At least we have two wingers on the field and plenty of speed. We are playing with a false #10. Fulton has a lot to do.
