Have to add a PS in that I thought Charlie Savage had a very tidy game and I think he's wasting his career at Crewe - he's better than that. I think he has a lot of potential and we could do far worse than put in a bid for him. He's learned his trade in the Man Utd academy so he has to have some talent.
Head in the shed! Charlie plays for Reading, not Crewe having signed a 4 year contract last July. Freudian slip as his dad played for Crewe. That's better for us should we want him because Reading urgently need cash. Charlie can play AM or DM, is 6ft tall and he says he's more of a ball player than was his dad. He's only 20 and MOM against Gibraltar, so has youth and ability. Okay, I get that Gib aren't much better than a pub team but France and Holland only scored 3 against them and Charlie did well. I'd sign him at the right money.

At last! The FAW have finally seen some sense and have stated that Wales cannot keep losing games! No shit, Sherlock!! The fans could have told you that what seems like an eon ago and certainly Page should have been sacked the second he got home from the last World Cup debacle.

The FAW belatedly have now said that if we fail to qualify (as is likely) for the finals of the Euros, they will conduct a review into Page's position. Stupid arseholes!! Talk about closing the stable door after the horse has bolted. And the prize morons fairly recently gave him a new contract, so even if they do get rid of him as they absolutely should, they'll have to pay him a fat lump of compensation. May I suggest that the particular moron who proposed the new contract should also get his ass fired at the same time as Page.

Noel Mooney wanted Roy Keane as manager when Giggs resigned but was out-voted by senior members of the FAW (old farts with less footballing knowledge than an amoeba), so that's how Page got the job. Mooney now favours Keane again should Page be sacked as he should be. Tbh I'm not sure about this. Sure, Keane has a wealth of experience as a player and some at international level in coaching set-ups. But when he was a league manager, he hardly set the world on fire. What do you guys think? However, if it was a straight choice between Keane and Page I'd have to opt for Keane.

Robert Page became very emotional when he was interviewed about the rumours circulating that his job was in the balance. His staff immediately pronounced their backing for him. Of course they would; should he lose his job, they lose theirs as well! In fairness, the players also declared their support but then it seems as though he's been giving them an easy ride considering their performances. If they really backed him they'd start playing as if they meant it rather than looking like a bunch of amateurs on paypackets.

I must confess that I felt a lot of sympathy for Page. He comes across to me as a very decent person and that always scores highly with me. But, nonetheless, his record is pretty poor and he and his players HAVE to start delivering or else Welsh football will go to the dogs. His task will not be made any easier this evening as they face Croatia who are a top class, quality team. Unfortunately they were surprisingly beaten 1-0 by Turkey the other day, so will be looking to put that right against us. I think we'll be lucky to get a draw.

The match today and the remainder of the campaign happens with one notable exception ... no more Ramsay. Finally, we'll have a team of XI hard working, ambitious players on the field, capable of performing at their peak for 90.

It's good for Wales that Croatia were beaten by Turkey. Now you have a better chance to qualify. Perisic has a long-term injury, Modric isn't what he used to be and Hajduk Split's top scorer Livaja no longer wants to play for the national team. These three have been the most influential players of late. Yeah, and Kramaric is injured as well.

That 2nd goal looked like it could have been offside, and how did that go in off of his back? Amazing

Fcuk me!! We beat Croatia, a team for whom I have the utmost respect. And it was deserved as the performance was probably the best I've seen from us under Robert Page. For an hour we were easily the better team and I think Croatia didn't really go for it as a draw was far more useful to them than us. But when we scored they woke up and even more so when we got our second.

At times it was all hands to the pumps as Croatia pressed and they got one back when Joe Rodon failed to even jump at the far post as their player headed in. But, other than that, Joe and the rest of our defenders were heroic in their efforts to repel the Croatian attacks. Warner was sound between the sticks and some of his distribution was really excellent.

In between Wales found time and space to launch several menacing attacks of their own and could have added to their score with a little more composure. This was more like it and it's a shame we didn't perform like that in the World Cup instead of stinking the place out. But Bale and Ramsey both have to bear their share of the blame for that. They were simply awful. Have to say a HUGE well done to Page and his players for this display. They showed skill, guts and commitment and, dare I say, the team looked like they were playing to save their manager's job. That was gratifying to see and I hope this attitude is not going to be a one off performance.

Great result but it'll mean nothing unless we get six points in Armenia and against Turkey at home. If we play like we did tonight then I'm confident we'll do it. IF....... Some stats:

POSSESSION: 28-72 SHOTS: 10-10 OT: 5-3 CORNERS: 5-5 FOULS: 11-9 GOALS: 2-1

I think Croatia had an off-night this evening as they are a top side but Wales showed what they can do when they get things right. They need to get it right as well in the final two games and I think they can do it.

Totally pissed off! Didn't feel great so had to pass on darts with Blobs. Felt so rough I didn't even want to cook so I fetched a KFC to munch for dinner. Whilst I was eating it I glanced at the newspaper and saw that Spurs were playing Chelsea which I hadn't known about. I managed to catch up on the highlights, incidents and reports on Sky Sports late on and this was one game I shouldn't have missed.

As many will now know, there were 5 goals, 5 disallowed goals, two red cards and lots of incidents for VAR to review. The game has been discussed on Talk Sport virtually all morning and the presenters all mentioned what I felt from the highlights; namely that Jackson, the Chelsea striker, must be the only player in the history of the game to score a hat trick but only get rated a 4 for his overall performance. Yes, he was that bad. But he was on hand to bag three tap-ins against a non-existent defence and pinch the match ball for his 'efforts'. Talk about luck!!!!

The first red card - straight red - on Romero was unfair on the defender. 50-50 ball. Defender went in to play the ball with a kicking foot. Got there first by a mile. Made proper contact with the ball, but his follow through took his kicking foot into the opposing player who made no attempt to either play the ball or get out of the way. 50 years ago this would have been considered par for the course.

Ducks certainly couldn't function in today's game. Forget yellow cards, red cards and a talking to from the ref. He'd be arrested for GBH!! That said, he actually was a damned fine footballer when he wasn't seeking confrontation and was being looked at by a number of then top level clubs in the old First Division before that head injury cut short his career. Live by the sword, die by the sword, I suppose. But I'm surprised he didn't end up as a minder for the Kray twins. :D
