Charlton

A team who were doing so well until the injury bug has wiped them out. They have 12 players our injured including their best player Jonathan Leko who returned to WBA for treatment.

This should be nothing but a win but with Cooper's "tactics" I can see a bore 0-0 draw.

This is another team we should be hammering at the Liberty but we'll be lucky to scrape a 1-0 win if we continue to play the way we have been. Now, if we can improve our woeful finishing, we might get a 3-0, which we need to better our poor goal difference.

Forget August. The Shit Streak started in the middle of September on return from the international break. Despite a couple of blip ups along the way, the streak and the return on effort during that streak have been remarkably consistent. The blips proved to be aberrations and not the corrections and fixes that Cooper teased and promised.

Other teams should be hammering us. We are the bottom club. Apply the return on effort ratio to August's matches and adjust our points total to date accordingly and we are a bottom club.

Sadly I was saying this in September.

I know it's off topic, but what helps to start the New Year off well. How about the Scum are losing 6-0 at QPR at 70 minutes.
Yes but we are due to play them next Sunday and they'll have the benefit of no travel and a day's more rest than us! :(

According to the Daily Mail we are want Connor Gallagher as he's likey to leave Charlton to go back to Chelsea in January. Sadly WBA also want him and they are obvious choices above us.

That would be a great signing for our midfield.

Hoping for a good performance but right now, as some results went for us last night, I'd prefer 3 points to keep us in touch with the top 6. Two tough fixtures ahead - QPR just stuck 6 on Cardiff, so will be chock full of confidence and Cardiff themselves will be hell-bent on stopping us doing the double.

The match will NOT be on SwansTV for anyone who may want to purchase the match.

I also read this today on WO and it's spot on. Harsh, fair or just frustration? The Swans boos and what fans want to see
Basically it was another drab home performance and an underwhelming result against another poor team in Barnsley. The passing was poor, there wasn't much creativity, we were low on energy and it was very difficult to work out what our gameplan was. The lack of noise from the crowd said it all, it was a flat, joyless affair and that's what we've come to expect at the Liberty over recent months. The players look like they hate playing at home, appearing awkward and unsure what they're supposed to do. Worryingly these traits aren't exclusive to yesterday's meek and disjointed showing, this is what fans have come to expect at home and that's why a lot of fans now see these matches as a chore rather than something to be enjoyed.

I'm not sure booing achieves much in our current situation but can understand why some may have felt the urge. The boos weren't just for the poor performance against Barnsley, they were because this is a regular occurrence. Apart from the Cardiff match when we raised our game, we've not seen a good home performance since August. Nobody's complaining about our current league position but there are real concerns that we've been going backwards since the summer and longer term prospects aren't great.

There's no risk of us going down so we have the luxury of being able to give him time. We can be patient and give him time to learn and find a way of turning things around but he needs to start giving fans reasons to believe we're on the right track under him. Our form since August is that of a side battling relegation, most of last season's star players have gone backwards under him and it's still very tough to work out what he's trying to do.

ESPN+ in USA ... which means that a poor game is going to be even more tedious with the low key, ignorant commentating.

On the wake of the article that @IanABS94 posted above, it now becomes clear that the Club get this or are monitoring this and hence all of the rah-rah-is-us blue-sky fluff pieces that have been posted to the Club's web site from the players and Leon. It's a really bad strategy to insult the intelligence of your customer base.

I just checked by looking in the mirror .... and I'm pretty darn sure that I don't look like I fell off the back of a turnip truck yesterday. And I'll bet the poster of that cogent post in WO doesn't either.

Does the Club really believe that the posters on this forum, the people that pay regularly to put a bum on a seat, and those that pay to stream every match, are so lacking any degree of football sophistication that we can't understand what we see on the field and recognize how badly aligned with reality is the blarney coming out of Cooper's mouth and the Club's web site. It's insulting.

Has Leon failed to look at or has he failed to understand the macro performance data so badly that he believes that Cooper is the "builder" of tomorrow. I'd love to see a comparison of match data under Jacket versus Cooper. I understand the need to present a particular face to the public, but if you can't speak honestly then don't speak at all. To do otherwise just undermines respect and trust.

That is an excellent post and the poster shares our opinion on the club's situation right now.

Though I don't agree with this sentence "There's no risk of us going down so we have the luxury of being able to give him time." for two obvious reasons: a) we can still get relegated, and b) we don't have the luxury of being able to give Cooper time.

A) Who says that in this form we can't lose 5 or even 10 games in a row?

B) With a good manager we still have a chance to get promoted to the Premier League. We don't have the luxury not to sack Cooper. Next summer we'll lose half of the squad and we'll have even less money to spend. This year is the year when we should try everything to go up. Everything. Or we'll be a cannon fodder for the newly relegated Premier League clubs and the Championship, clubs who have sugar daddies, for years to come.
