Ivor , as well as all your other problems you can now add dementia to the list as you met BHG the last time we were in F&Bs !
My apology to BHG , only just picked up your text , my phone was switched off
ME suffering from dementia? Well, Blobs, just who the fcuk is BHG????????????? :ROFLMAO: I can't remember ever being introduced to BTG at F&Bs and when this guy turned up last night, I had no idea who he was - and no one made any introductions to enlighten me. I kept out of the conversation from politeness as I thought he was a friend of yours. So, BTG, sincere apologies if I came across as being aloof; I would have loved to make your acquaintance properly and have a good chat with you. Maybe next time, eh? :)

As it happens, I only found out about BTG from Jack Flash as we were walking to the ground from F&Bs and I was disappointed that I'd missed a chance to say a proper hello. But never mind, as always it was just great to see you all guys again even if only for a few minutes. (y):)

Looking back at it we should've had 4 by halftime, some rusty shooting from Borja and Byers. A really poor second half performance but if we can replicate the first half consistently we'll do well. I really can't emphasize enough how important a signing like Kasey Palmer or any physical midfielder would be to this team.

Too many high shots. Just watch the highlights and count how many times the commemtator said "just over the crossbar". And this has become a bad habit.

Hitting the top corner is one of the most difficult things in football. You need to be a top player to do that game in game out. The question is why our players don't keep it simple and choose low shots.

First of all, you have a better chance to hit the target and score. Second, if you shoot low your shot can be deflected and fool opposition goalkeeper. Third, if the shot is low and powerfull, there is a chance that opposition goalkeeper won't be able to hold the ball and then you can score from the rebound. Fourth, a low shot can be deflected off target but you win a corner-kick.

It's purely a lack of technique, CJ, and not enough shooting practice imo. I was taught accuracy counts above everything, particularly power. The more you power the ball the less control you have over it - which is not to say that you never use power, as sometimes it is called for. But how often do you see good players slot the ball between the keeper's legs, or just pass it into the far corner? But ego comes into it as well. Players love to be seen scoring 'worldies' and opt for a screamer when a simple, placed shot is by far the better option. You didn't need to tell legendary goal poachers such as Jimmy Greaves that. They scored their share of worldies but they were natural scorers of simple goals. We don't have one.

I know, but how come they play in the Championship and are on £20.000 a week. Some of them played in the Premier League. What do they do during the training sessions? I know that Ronaldo, Zlatan, Rooney etc. used to stay at training ground after training sessions to practice shooting. And they are much more talented players than our lot. Imagine I represent a client in the court, lose the case and say I lack practice and professional knowledge ???
