Here is our starting line-up

Swansea City: Kristoffer Nordfeldt; Kyle Naughton, Mike van der Hoorn (capt), Matt Grimes, Connor Roberts; Jay Fulton, George Byers, Bersant Celina; Nathan Dyer, Daniel James, Wayne Routledge.

Subs: Steven Benda, Declan John, Cameron Carter-Vickers, Barrie Mckay, Joel Asoro, Oli McBurnie, Courtney Baker-Richardson.

Looks like Grimes is a CB tonight. Mr Versatile. Oli to the bench and Routs returns. I like him as a sort of #9 - at this level the ball sticks to him

We sound comfortable at the moment and James came close with a shot off the crossbar. Nice to get an early goal though. Brentford will have to come at us now because they have to score at least once and should leave gaps at the back for us to exploit. That's the hope anyway. :)

Just lost commentary and it came back to announce Dyer's second. :D Looks like our pace is killing them and I really hope that Nathan gets his hat trick and that Potter gives him a good chance to do it.

Superb 45 minutes of football. We look class tonight. Makes the lossfo Forest and others even more maddening

Route is a terrific #9. He has his role well in hand.

James and Grimes are also showing class, every game is a step up from the game before.

We just need to find some consistency. Too late for it to affect this season but if we can keep this team together we could do great things next season. Let's hope that Birch, a so-called football man, can see this and try to persuade the owners that promotion could be viable in the next campaign. That would be worth far more money than flogging off our players.

We lost tempo in the second half, which could have cost us against a better team, but nonetheless a solid performance.

Impressed with Grimes, my man of the match .... could he play in goal. Fulton had a very tidy game. Everybody else notable.

Good performance by the lads which actually gives us an outside chance of the play-offs as we have a game in hand on some of the teams above us. I doubt we'll manage it but I repeat that, if this team is allowed to grow together, we could see a credible tilt at promotion next season. Although it would obviously help, I don't necessarily think we need to add too many players to the squad. One or two would be enough seeing as we have Fer and Rodon to come back in. So, we're not asking the owners to dip into their stingy pockets, we just need them to KEEP THIS SQUAD TOGETHER to give them the chance. We have the rest of this season for the lads to get more experienced and hardened to Championship football then with a thorough pre-season we could be well placed to give it a real good go. Some teams above us have over performed but I feel we are the opposite and our inexperience, coupled with bad luck and other factors, have cost us in the region of 10 points imo. We should have been well placed to have a run at the top but I'll settle for next season........ providing we don't sell our best players. Some stats from tonight:

POSSESSION: 51-49 SHOTS: 13-6 OT: 6-1 CORNERS: 1-2 FOULS: 9-15 GOALS: 3-0

Encouraging to note that we achieved a 50% conversion rate with our shots on target and we hit the woodwork a couple of times as well, which might have further enhanced the stats had the attempts gone in. A good night and a well done to Potter and the lads.

Other factors:

1. We have been robbed for at least 5 points by incompetent referees.

2. Missed penalties

3. Chopping and changing during the first four months of the season. Dyer and Routs were frozen out. Pity, because a) they are better than McKay and Asoro and b) they know how to play pass & move football.

4. Lack of concentration.

5. Too soft. Not agressive enough.

Spot on. For a bunch of youngsters just being blooded into the Championship, the loss of the experienced Fer and Olson for the second half of the season and the bad luck and bad refereeing decisions we should be proud of where we are (and we should be in the FA Cup semi-finals as well)!

Exactly Victoria Swan, the FA need to take a serious look at the refereeing standard in British football. We are not talking about an isolated incident, but incidents that cost clubs money and points on a weekly basis. I think the situation speaks for itself when there were no British referee appointments for the 2018 World Cup in Russia.
Premiership referees are salaried, so they get paid a regular wage with match fees and travel expenses on top of that.
Top flight refs in England can earn as much as £70,000 a year, and that's a 40 week year.
When VAR is installed in all top two divisions, why not a reduction in refs wages helping to subsidise the cost. as they won't be called upon to make game changing errors, making the job so very much easier for them, they'll be almost irrelevant .
