That Matt Grimes is a class act. He didn't pick that up during his loan periods so all credit to Potter's team for bringing it out.
I guess the back three have been practising long out balls to the wide men. 👏👏. It didn't always work, sometimes the failure was hilarious, but it sure kept their back four honest.
Interesting point. Having scored (very) early did not even consider sitting back and protecting their lead. There was hardly any time wasting, no fake injuries. Altogether we probably got a good 20% more football last night then usual.
This squad and coaching team could do a Wolves next season as long as not too many leave in the Summer.

This is the big question. We know the owners have the money but do they have the bottle and the foresight to back the team? Potter has worked wonders with his young charges and they can only get better as a team PROVIDING players like Dan James can be retained. Trevor Birch has a football background and surely he can see what the rest of us do.

The owners don't necessarily need to spend big; just a couple of experienced heads to guide the youngsters and give us depth would do. In fact, I would settle for what we already have providing they can keep their greedy paws off our budding talent who could come into their own next season if Potter is allowed to bring them on. The future could be very bright providing the right decisions are made now.

Yes, it would be great to keep this squad together .... however, Potter has made it clear that he only wants players in the squad who WANT to play for us. Do you really think Dan James will want to continue playing for us when he is being courted by Premier League and top tier European League clubs? And I'm not talking about the Man City and Bayern Munichs where he would fight to get a regular place but teams where he would be a regular first teamer (think Will Hughes from Derby to Watford, although he was undervalued at 8 million). I don't think James will WANT to stay and I don't blame him either. I think we need to resign ourselves to losing him in the summer and can only hope that by doing so we solve whatever pretend financial problems the yanks claim to have and free up funds to buy promising replacements.

Not being a local lad Dan has no particular ties to the club other than the friends he's made with the other lads from the 'Unders'. Our only hope is that he rates Potter so highly in his development he'll want to stay for another season. It depends on his ambition. At a Premier League club he'll be one of many talents fighting for a place and there's no guarantee that he'll be anything other than a bench warmer in waiting. And let's not forget that his previous loan spell proved him to be a big flop for whatever reason.

He might well reason that with age on his side he could afford another season under Potter to gain valuable experience and hone his talents. Who knows, if we get promotion he might want to stay where he knows he's valued and been successful. That all depends on what the owners decide though and I can guess what we all think about that!!

If this is Daniel James' departure season I just hope he plays in the last home game against Derby so I get to see him play for Swansea in-person at least once - that's the only game I'm going to attend at the Liberty this season!
