Here we go - can there be a more rigorous test of football, character and cohesion than this match following what we witnessed against Brum.

For the first time in a long, long time, I watched a pre-match interview all the way through. Today's interview and the post-match following Brum saw the usual platitudes disappear and raw truth emerge. Fair play, Martin's comments today were as raw and real as a manager can get while still keeping "behind closed doors" material that way.

Missing are Lati and Benda. Allen is back. Walsh is back and should be considered for the midweek game.

My understanding of reading body language suggests that someone telling porkies looks up and to the left when speaking , guess which way Martin was looking during most of his replies in his presser ?

We have a slight advantage from the Blades/Wrexham game. They will have less recovery time and we should have watched a video of the game to try and grab a few pointers to help us. Whether the intelligence exists at the Liberty to do that is another question of course. As for the result, whilst we need a win, I think a draw is the best we can hope for. Tony Mowbray is a wily and highly experienced manager who can buy and sell Russell Martin all day and every day. I would definitely accept a draw.

Darling dropped for Wood. That’s one relief. Joe on the bench with Walsh and Whitaker.

ntcham starts … why, he’s only good for 20 or so and too light weight against United

I hope we'll see double substitutions being used, Martin I'm sure learned a lesson. Sheffield making 3 changes from the Wrexham match I believe

Sheffield United: Wes Foderingham, Sander Berge, Billy Sharp (captain), John Egan, Max Lowe, Anel Ahmedhodzic, Oliver Norwood, Jack Robinson, Jayden Bogle, James McAtee, Iliman Ndiaye.

Substitutes: Adam Davies, John Fleck, Chris Basham, Oli McBurnie, Ismaila Coulibaly, Ben Osborn, Ciaran Clark.
