Why is it when we go down to 10 men we are such crap? Some teams actually win with 10, we almost always play as though we've had three men sent off not just one!! Damning stat from the comms that we are the WORST team in the division for losing possession in the final third. Bears out what I said about the players thinking they're a lot better than they actually are.

In retrospect yesterday was a pleasant surprise. Driven perhaps by Covid impacting the squad and tying Martin’s hands, but any port in a storm. Perhaps going forward he will be less fearful and more adventurous. If Ogbeta is any good on the left side, perhaps we can dispense with Manning and Lati in that role, and provide a greater offensive threat with Wolf and Paterson on that side.
Downes did well in his new position at CB. A versatile player like Grimes, I wonder how he would stand up to a more robust and vigorous #9. Anyway, he puts more football on the field in that position. It’s interesting that Martin started Downes there instead of Bennet … reminds me of Laudrup starting Ki in place of Monk in the cup final

At least the Swans gave Wales some good cheer over the weekend. Ireland U20 rugby beat us 53-5; Ireland smashed Wales 29-7 in the Six Nations; Cardiff lost; Newport lost: Wrexham lost and Eubank Jr beat Liam Williams in their boxing match. Apart from Cardiff, what a dire set of results!!

Of course these figures are distorted by the red card but, looking at the shot and corner count, it was a very decent defensive effort from us. Mind you, Blackburn still found time to commit more fouls than we did.
