We've paid the price for our poor start. Looking good against First Division Northampton is one thing. Doing it against Championship teams is an altogether different proposition. Duff has little managerial experience at this level and I hope it doesn't cost us. He can't complain about not having a decent squad given the players we've signed. It's his job to get a tune out of them but so far he's struggled to do it.

I get a sense that we are falling between our natural inclination to play passing football and the more direct style Duff wants us to play. We are neither one thing or the other it seems to me.

WBA quick passes, fast breaks and dangerous crosses. Us slow passing, no breaks and yetbtonput a cross in. Pretty awful.
