All play suspended

All matches in the EFL are now suspended until April 4th at the earliest.
Sensible decision imo. Now close the airports and ports of entry to prevent further incidents of idiots bringing this virus into our country!

As you said earlier, we are an island, and in a better position to be in control of our borders. Boris doesn't appear to have an inkling as to what is going on, one day he's saying "Shake hands with everyone" the very next day he's advising everyone not to shake hands with anyone.
I think this situation needs to be totally taken out of the hands of politicians and put in the hands of a panel of medical experts, people who, unlike politicians, will make the right decisions and don't have there fingers in the pies of business, and look at financial loss due to closures.
Also I think the football ban should read "Until further notice".

There will be clubs that will fold as a result of this under the continued burden of player contracts without match day revenue to cover payment. Without some working agreement with the players’ union, agents and clubs, this is inevitable,

We are likely to be part of that casualty. Where is the Trust now. Where are the owners now.

This is wild. I read Hudson-Odoi had it who knows who else now. What a strange time to be alive. I wonder if this sort of thing will become the norm.

That great American sport of Nascar is the only thing left to watch. Not even Fifa e-sport matches to watch.

I didn't think of that, you would think the FA would step up to help but in the cases of Bury and Bolton likely not. Also the grounds and stadium workers and pub owners are going to take a loss. I hope it goes over fast.

As you say yankee "Where are the owners now" This will come as devastating news to them, financialy of course. a long period could make the club worthless. They obviously have legal financial commitments to the club and now possibly rue the day they met Jenkins, who has emerged as the outright winner.

On the other hand this is an opportunity .... faced with a worthless entity or a buy out the Owners have a choice. They can either take the buy out or finance the liquidity of the club until football resumes. If football does not resume for next season then there are other deeper factors that will come into play .... I wonder if there is insurance that covers revenue losses due to acts of God ... surely this must be classified as an "act of god" casualty.

If we can find some enterprising individual or entity then they could potentially acquire the club now for pennies on the pound and give us a future.

Pretty sure I read somewhere some insurance companies are attempting to introduce the 'act of god' clause on certain parts of policies.

Medical experts? There are a lot of fools among them. On February 27 when it was clear that the epidemic was spreading in the north of Italy, well-known and higly-estimated Danish virologists (professor doctors) advised worried people on Danish TV (equivalent to BBC) to go on ski holidays to North Italy. "Don't worry." - they said. These people have been advising the Danish government. And what happened? Last weekend, thousands and thousands infected Danes returned home spreading the disease in metro, busses, trains, supermarkets...This week the number of cases exploded in Denmark. Denmark is now no. six in the world for cironavirus infections per capita.

On the Danish Ministry of Health web-site there is still this sentence:

"Covid-19 can't be spread by people who don't have symptoms." !!!

This crises have to be put in the hands of military. A couple of weeks ago a German general advised Angela Merkel to close the borders. She refused.

Can't see putting in the hands of the military would do any good, a case of shutting the stable door after the horse has bolted, agreed they can close borders, but the Geni is already out of the bottle in these countries. They also would have to turn to these 'fools' for advise.

Military knows how to fight against biological weapon . Military has the much-needed know-how. Military is used to take quick decisions in crisis. Military is trained to respond quickly. Military has plans and resources. Military has mobile hospitals that can be used at airports and harbours to quickly establish qarantine for those who are entering the country. And people don't mess with military.

What's going to happen with all these matches. Making up 3 fixtures will be easier IF the Euros and Olympics are canceled. I was really looking forward to seeing Wales this spring shame. What a crazy situation. It's the first time these players will have idle time since the days of 24/7 365 football has begun. Maybe our squad will come back fit and ready to win. Hopefully that happens without tanks on the streets. Stay safe everyone.

I worry about those poor mobs in Millwall with no outlet to share their aggression. What will they do.

From tomorrow Denmark finally closes its borders for all foreign citizens. Military will be controlling the borders together with the border police. Although I think it's too late, this radical measure might help a bit. No new virus carriers coming from abroad will be spreading the disease.

I think they can call a wrap on this season. I don't see it being resumed. The crest of the wave has not been reached yet and the tail will roll through the summer .... the wretched under funding of the NHS over the last 10+ years shall be laid bare/

Moving the Euros to next year would get us Joe Allen and Ramsay back.

The fact they are moving Euros to 2021 gives me some hope that the rest of the games will be played in July/August. The new season start probably postponed to late September. The late season start requires cancellation of all international games in 2020.

A moment of silence please .... for all those poor buggers that no longer have a get-out-of-jail-free excuse not to go shopping on Saturday with their wife, girlfriend, whomever. It's a necessary evil, and that which doesn't kill you makes you stronger.

On the other hand ... going shopping violates the principal of social distancing. If she'll swallow that one, go for it.

I misspoke. The Turkish Super League and Mexican Liga MX are still playing matches. Might have to tune in next Sunday to watch Nordfelt with Glenclerbigli.

If you are looking for something to watch while the football is cancelled, go on YouTube and look up hoo's mini world ,3d pen motorcycle.
Absolutely fantastic skill and detailing , I've never seen anything like it, I was mesmerised from start to finish.
