By Potter's comments ... he's cheesed off.

Time for McShit to wipe is arse and start putting a foot in.

Time for Fulton to claim and own a starting spot with Fer crocked.

Time for Byers to step up and claim a spot as well.

Yep, three months hard work and they can get moved on to a better club. I’ll still be stuck in Swansea getting more depressed

I was disappointed that Dan James seemed in such a hell of a rush to leave us because I think he owes us a lot. He came from Hull to our Academy as a rough diamond and very much a work in progress - so much so that when he was loaned to Shrewsbury to gain experience, the loan was cut short because Dan just didn't measure up and couldn't get game time even at that lower level. Not at all promising.

But he came back to us and worked with our coaches to such an extent that he's now one of our better players and a Welsh international to boot. But when Leeds came in for him there seemed to be no gratitude, just an unseemly wish to get the hell out of Dodge..... or the Liberty. Okay, I get that football players are always on the alert to improve their prospects, and their wages, but, rightly or wrongly, I felt a sense of disappointment that he appeared more than happy to dump us at the first opportunity.

Anyway, fortunately (for us) the deal didn't go through and we'll never know for sure the reasons why. Certainly Dan didn't seem happy that his move didn't materialise even if it was initially the owners' wish to move him out and cash in (sod 'em). Whatever, he's back in training and would have us believe that all is now hunky dory. I'd like to think this is so but I guess he will be judged on his performances from now on in. Good luck to him.

@ivoralljack no matter what James wanted, the club should have said that he was NOT FOR SALE. James should have been given a new contract instead, he is still on U23 wages. There have been an obvious interest from Bielsa and Leeds, and when a manager of Bielsa's caliber is interested in one of your brightest prospect, then the alarm bells have to be activated.

Forced by whom?
Probably the Yanks, If it was my business the way I would look at it is, there's a possibility of promotion, so maybe we should keep him, mega money involved, if we don't go up then he's probably going to be worth a few more million anyway in six months time. Jenkins has probably told the Yanks he wants out due to all the crap he's taking, Redeem himself with the yanks blessing in the eyes of the fans and cancel the deal. If Pearlman was in my employ, I would have expected him to advise against the sale. His advise should be, bad business to sell something that's irreplaceable for the same money.

Probably the Yanks
No. The American owners wanted the deal. Levien agreed everything with Radrizzani and Jenkins knew everything about the deal.

It is interresting that nobody actively pulled the plug on the deal. On the deadline day and after James passed his medical there was no further action from Swansea, and no action means panic. So, what caused the panic? Why didn't Jenkins answer numerous calls from the Leeds hierarchy and finalise the deal? What happened on the deadline day? What could have happened had James transfer been finalised? Think about it.

The only logical explanation is...

Under the above circumstances, no action means somebody either dropped the ball or deliberately avoided completing the deal. If the latter that person didn’t want the transfer to happen or was doing the player a favor by not completing it.

What’s your explanation @CroJack

How was James being done a favour when it looked so obvious that he wanted out?

I recon Potter threatened to walk if Dan was sold, the yanks still wanted to sell ( money to come yum) but big nose stalled the deal.
Potter stays. An unhappy James stays. Big nose resigns. In the summer all of our talent will be sold and the under 18 team will be our first team basis. The Yanks keep selling until the parachute payments stop. They then sell the club.
Tell me I am wrong!!

That's what I think has happened.

If Potter threatened to walk, then WTF is going on inside the Club between Owners, managing execs, and team operations. Surely Potter's position on what players are considered critical, essential, good to have to get the fuck out of here etc are known by all stakeholders. How could something like this happen without discussions.
