The James transfer is off

How has he got the balls to say all that, He and he alone is the reason the club is in this turmoil now. Have the balls instead to say I put my personal greed before 20,000 fans, I cost the club millions and millions of pounds buying the wrong players and employing the wrong managers. Who fabricated non existent meetings and signed non existent minutes? Face the fans and explain that to them, rather than looking for sympathy with your sob stories. The plain and simple fact is if you weren't chairman three years ago we would have been richer, more stable and yank free. You say we'll not see you at the Liberty for a while. I for one never want to see you at the Liberty ever again.

If Potter threatened to walk, then WTF is going on inside the Club between Owners, managing execs, and team operations. Surely Potter's position on what players are considered critical, essential, good to have to get the fuck out of here etc are known by all stakeholders. How could something like this happen without discussions.
Potter is definitely Jenkins' signing. And Jenkins made some promises when he hired Potter. 1) We'll go back to Swanselona style of play, 2) We'll build for the future and we'll promote young, talented players from the Academy, and 3) Potter will have the last say on transfers, though he has to accept that the high earners have to go.

As far as know, Radrizzani (the Leeds owner) made a direct call to Levien behind Jenkins' back (ha, ha...o tempora o mores!) and they negotiated the James' transfer. When the deal was done, Jenkins got an order from Levien to do the paperwork. On the deadline day Jenkins sent James to Leeds to go through with his medical and informed Potter about the deal. What Jenkins didn't expect was: a) Swansea fans got mad on social media, and b) Potter threatened to leave because of 2) and 3).

I am on Twitter and I asure you that Swansea fans have not been so mad since Petty era.

Why do I think Potter threatened to leave? Well, it was clear from his Bristol pre-match conference that he felt he'd been betrayed. He talked a lot about his family, how they left Sweeden where they had had a good life etc. With other words, he was hugely disappointed with what was going on. Between the lines he said "I did all of that and you don't keep your promises? Fuck off!".

So Jenkins had no choice. Had Potter and James left he would be persona non grata in Swansea. He chose instead to undermine Levien's orders and refused to answer Leeds calls knowing that he would either be sacked or forced to resign. Now all the blame is on the American owners and some former Swansea managers (Toshack, Martinez) are telling us how we should be grateful to Jenkins for everything he has done for the club. Many Swansea fans are buying the story about Jenkins being the hero who stood up to the American owners.

Eloquent, and correct in every detail., How he could show his face at the liberty for so long knowing he had sold his soul to the Yankees and the club he says he loved down the river I will never know.

@CroJack ... I appreciate that post. Your plot makes sense. The net is that Jenkins didn't resign but was effectively removed. New Owners and Pearlman are, it seems, running the Club by the cash flow and P&L statements and not thinking strategically or tactically about today or tomorrow, or the essence of being a football club in a pyramid structure, risk based industry with massive negative impacts for operating failure projecting or manifesting on the field of play.

I have zero regard for Jenkins. He burned that bridge with the treatment of the Trust and acts stated by @Jackflash above. However, the cupboard is now bare. What will now function at the executive level with the strategic and tactical nous of operating in a landscape fraught with performance risk.

It is now scary.

Jenkins has for the last five years been full of crap. He resigned because he couldn't control the club? Lol. He has never controlled the club. Before the takeover it was Morgan who had controlled the club, and after the takeover the American owners have had the control over the club.

It is scary because they know nothing about football. They don't understand that James is potentially much more worth than £1 m + £9m. They don't understand implications of James' transfer on our other young players and the dressing room.

In Joe Rodon and Daniel James we have potentially two future Premier League stars. How much have Manchester City payed for John Stones? £47,5 m. And for Raheem Sterling? £49 m. Bielsa is not stupid.

The majority of my plot is probably true (especially that part about Jenkins not being involved in transfer negotiations anymore), but deep inside I don't believe that Potter threatened to leave. Not yet. Potter is a genuine man who has a degree in emotional intelligence. He knows exactly who he is dealing with within the club and he also knows we have to bring our wage bill down. He said "We've lost players at Östersund and we still managed to make progress as a club." We are lucky to have him at Swansea because every other manager would walk in this situation.

When James does go, and he will go, I just hope that whoever handles the deal for us has the nous to insert a swingeing sell on clause of not less than 25%.

Good article and GREAT news if it's true. Sod the greedy Wanks and the £££££ signs in their eyes. There's more and more pressure mounting on them every day and when details of what seems to be a shady deal becomes ever more exposed, they might pack their carpetbags and sod off to whence they came. Mind you, if they pack their broken promises in that bag, they won't be able to lift the fcuking thing! Roll on the court case, we want the details out in the open.
