I'm still of the opinion the Yanks were behind the sacking of Laudrup. Jenkins at the time was back and forth to America supposedly seeking investment for the club, I think its fair to assume now it was the initial negotiations for the sale, and its my belief that Jenkins was instructed to get rid of Laudrup before negotiations continued. I don't think the yanks saw Laudrup as someone they could control, Monk, yes, Laudrup no. Even though he was making the club more money than they'd ever seen, at the time of his sacking we were in 4 money making competitions. It seems they were waiting for the least trivial excuse to sack him,it arrived in the form of (He was going to Bristol to see his daughter} which he apparently informed them of. Jenkins as Yankee pointed out sacked him by text. was it because he didn't have the balls, or was it because he was too ashamed to do it face to face. it had to be done if the future sale of the club was riding on it. What convinces me more on all this is Jenkins's final sentence before leaving was "I didn't want to sack Michael" To say that was quite irrelevant but he felt he had to say it, but he'd got himself into a situation where he was now controlled by the yanks and various board members who were queuing up to sell their shares. That's my take on it and I don't think I'm too far wrong. The morons that did that thankfully no longer have a say.
Morgan.I'm still of the opinion the Yanks were behind the sacking of Laudrup.
Why?Morgan.
Why not?Why?
Reason?Why not?
Two class players who possess the quality to fire us into the Premier League. I hope they're given the opportunity.A happy Borja and happy Andre will absolutely destroy the Championship. We're seeing it already; if we keep them and tell suitors in January to back off then a top 6 finish is very possible.
The attempts to force his resignation were there long before the Dyer thing. Months prior Laudrup asked for a striker, having got a huge injury list. he was refused point blank by Jenkins. Jenkins then decided himself to bring in Emnes and I think N'gog. I remember in an interview Laudrup was asked about a striker and his reply was "I think you'd better ask the chairman that question." There were definite signs to force his hands. What other board would refuse a manage a player having a huge injury list, but still in the FA Cup, still in the League Cup, still in Europe, and still in the Premiership.Dyer
Not the League Cup, but Europa League. What other board would refuse a manage a player having a huge injury list, but still in the FA Cup, still in the League Cup, still in Europe, and still in the Premiership.
Which Yanks?I'm still of the opinion the Yanks were behind the sacking of Laudrup. Jenkins at the time was back and forth to America supposedly seeking investment for the club, I think its fair to assume now it was the initial negotiations for the sale, and its my belief that Jenkins was instructed to get rid of Laudrup before negotiations continued. The club was bought more than three years later. The yanks took over in summer 2016, Laudrup was sacked in February 2013. One or two years is enough time for negotiations. What your saying is the club was bought almost two years later, deals involving £M's of pounds are not done in five minutes, don't you think that negotiations went on behind closed doors long before that for various reason
I think you'll find Laudrup was sacked on the 4th Feb 2014.The club was bought more than three years later. The yanks took over in summer 2016, Laudrup was sacked in February 2013. One or two years is enough time for negotiations.
As I said earlier Ivor, If they get him into court I think the yanks will have a much more powerful legal representation than the Trust, as they have far more to lose.Conspiracy theories abound, just ABOUND I tell you!! Guys, I guess we'll never know the whole truth and that's the pity of it. Liars, shysters and conmen know how to cover their tracks and there seem to be plenty involved here, in my opinion. I'm hoping that most of the truth will come out in court but I very much doubt that we'll get the truth, the whole truth and nothing but the truth no matter how big the stack of bibles they swear on.
