Ayew has had offers from both Leicester and Newcastle, but both have refused to meet his wage demands.

He’s not going anywhere ... is he? We are stuck with his current wages, whatever they are

Well he can play for us then. If his heart is in it he would be a quality addition for us.
We can't afford seven wingers, that's three too many. Ok, he can play up front, but then what about Borja and Surridge?

If you ask me I'd rather have a settled starting XI game in game out, and here is my starting XI:

Woodman; Roberts, Hoorn, Rodon, Bidwell; Grimes, Byers; Routledge, Celina, Dyer; Baston

Bench: Mulder, Naughton, Wilmot, Fulton, Peterson, Kalulu, Surridge

I don't want Cooper to start chopping and changing like he did in the Derby game. We need consistency and having Peterson, Surridge and Kalulu on the pitch at the same time is a recipe for disaster. As @Yankee_Jack pointed out they don't know how to play Swanselona style of play (yet).

I understand what you say but with what we're paying him I'd expect to get some mileage out of him. He's no winger but could contribute in the middle of the park even if it's off the bench.

@CroJack .... agree with your line-up except Fulton in place of Byers at this time. Fulton is getting it done. Celina on the other needs to get his shit together or play Byers in preference or perhaps Peterson.
Fulton for Byers, Naughton for Roberts, Byers for Celina...no problem at all. All of them know our style of play. And probably Wilmot for Rodon wouldn't change the way we play from the back.

I am not saying Peterson, Kalulu and Surridge can't adapt to our style of play, but judging by Derby game it'll take some time. So, I would like to see Dyer, Borja and Routs in our starting XI just to give us a stability and know-how. Cooper should use Peterson, Kalulu and Surridge as impact subs until they adapt.

Rather than start another thread - I read today that Wilf Bony, as a free agent, is training with Newport County and undergoing a 'brutal' fitness regime to try and get his career back on track. Meantime he says that he is looking for another club. Just passing on the news.

He is welcome if he accepts £20.000 a week and agrees to score at least 30 goals.

Not a bad return today. Saved us an embarrassment. I hear he threw himself about a bit too which is nice to hear although he's probably doing it to attract suitors.
Yes, after going a goal down Ayew gets two with his head, final score 3-1

The Borja / Ayew combination could tear this league apart. All the right things are being said and the attitude is manifest. I hope that we can take full advantage of this pairing before the January transfer window exposes them again. If they are getting the job done then both would be targets again in that window. We wouldn't want to lose either but you can't count on executive / ownership decision making.

If we are in the top six in January then it would be stupid to sell them. Promotion is worth £170m and a couple of millions we can get for them is peanuts comparing to PL money.
