WHEN SATURDAY COMES

This week sees the visit of an in form Middlesbrough team to the Liberty ( I can't get used to Swansea .com stadium )
Will this be yet another harrowing defeat or can Martin get some sort of a tune from his troops .
Personally I can't wait to see the back of Martin and his failed tenure at the helm .
Yes he was let down in the transfer window by the yanks , but did he or anyone else expect anything different?
Given that most of his signings have been poor at best , absolutely awful at worst ( Fisher, Darling etc.) why would the yanks throw more of their money away on Martins preferred options ? If the Yanks had any interest in the football side of our club Martin would have been sacked weeks ago for an inexcusable run of results and poor performances. Parker has been sacked by Bruge after only days in charge, at least they had the balls to get rid of him , time for the yanks to grow a pair , get rid of Martin and appoint Cam Toshak or even the now available Parker , change is necessary before we slide further down the table , the team losing confidence and me losing my sanity at the lineups and tactics used by Martin.
Anyone else think that Martin has overstayed his welcome in these parts ?

You all know what I think; I've said it often enough. Martin should have gone many games ago but I don't think he'll be sacked yet as the Yanks will have to pay compensation and they do not like parting with their money. Hopefully they are not completely insane and will dismiss Martin at or near the end of his contract. Equally hopefully, the recent visit of Cam Tosh was to run his eyes over what we've got for when he does come in. Wishful thinking? Might be, we can but hope.

As for Boro, the way they are playing under a decent manager gives me little optimism for us getting anything out of the game. Frankly I don't think we've got a scooby! But for a decent run of results what seems like a lifetime ago, we'd be fighting for our very lives in this division. Every pundit I hear or read thinks we are a basket case right now and I can't disagree.

Our players might find a set of sphericals; we might have the run of the ball for the entire game; Fisher might be unavailable; our defenders might start defending properly; and PIGS MIGHT FLY! But I suppose miracles do happen and all we can do is pray for one.

I can't get used to Swansea.com either. Dumb name. At least Liberty had a ring to it and we played a liberal style of football.

Our second game of next season. Boro come to town and no doubt will be well schooled. The question remains whether Martins change in approach against Luton was a one-off or a first step in a progression of change.

IF YOU COULD CHOOSE ONE (ONLY ONE) OF THE FOLLOWING OPTIONS WHICH WOULD IT BE:
1. Fire Martin
2. End Fisher's contract
3. Play Cullen in the starting XI
4. Make Crojack Director of Football Strategy

I'd love to fire Martin but think it won't make as much difference in our fortunes as dumping Fisher or playing Cullen. Between those two options the frequent giveaway of goals by the defense leads me to choose "End Fisher's contract".

As much as I'd like to take the Crojack option followed by Cullen I choose #1 and fire Martin. He really has to go.

#1. The new #1 should be smart enough to do the rest.

Well that pretty well decides it - Martin is out!

I almost want us to lose tomorrow because it increases the probability he'll get fired.

Read online today that Martin, John Eustace, Mick McCarthy, Paul Ince and Neil Warnock are ALL being tipped to shortly lose their jobs in the Championship. Guess we're hoping that they got it right at least with the first name on the list.

I’m still of the opinion that nothing will happen until season’s end. At this point it’s a business decision not a footballing one. The Liberty crowd and the away game faithful are not going to be happy, and the team are going to take grief if sloppy and training ground mistakes keep getting made. Martin will keep trying to make adjustments to bail his way out of it all, and this might just keep himself employed. Time will tell. I think the message that got passed from ownership to Martin at the end of the transfer window was “where is this going. We are see a trend down not a trend up. WTF”. Which took Martin by surprise since the tenor and tone of ownership may have change and the primary day one goal may have shifted. Hence the complete difference in pre/post match interviews for a few weeks that have now appeared to have settled back into the usual banal banter and the vulture reporters have disappeared.

We have conceded 7 goals as a direct result of our playing out from the back (conceded after a sloppy pass or getting dispossessed in our half). These goals have cost us 6 points. Had we not conceded these goals we would be 12th in the league table now. Not a big deal. We were all wrong when it comes to passing from the back. Our inability to deal with set-pieces and crosses is what is killing us, not passing from the back.

Piroe starts. Either 3+2 with Lati or Manning in the 3 or some sort of back 4 with Sorinola up with Cundle and Cooper🤷🏻‍♂️

Cullen yet again on the bench. Piroe offers no outlet as #9 and is barely offers any challenge in the air. I don’t see the point of starting him over Cullen. Cullen has superior finishing numbers.

Any stadium with a "dot com" sounds like a failed tech company. Maybe the name is bad luck and they need to change it so we can win again.

4, 3, 1, 2. Fisher is fine if he's not starting, he should be developed. Benda spent a few years as a 2nd or 3rd option.

Glad to see that radio Wales commentary is going ahead for this game rather than coming out in support of the idiotic Lineker
