Don't really want to waste any more words on those useless wankers but I have to. @CroJack got it right when he called us amateurs because we are. And we are coached by an amateur manager who, at times, hasn't got a frigging clue! TWO goals surrendered in injury time after we had bossed most of the game.

Where was our game management? Where was the passing/possession football that Martin is so proud of? Why couldn't we keep hold of the ball to starve them of it when we needed to? Were we not aware that Millwall play to the last whistle as they did in their last game when also 2 goals down?
And as for that defence of ours they couldn't keep out a LOW attack! Just pathetic and unprofessional and that's why Martin should go.

Actually, we didn't even need to keep hold of the ball. Good ol' hoofing was enough. At least we would've faced our opponents and not our own goal when the crosses were coming in.

95% of all own goals are scored when the defenders either run or move towards their own goal trying to clear the incoming cross.

So, the question is why on earth didn't we park the bus for the last 5 minutes and just hoof it?

Listen to Martin's post match report. He's losing patience. He sees 90 minutes of good football wiped out by two WTF moments - which is fair enough. Hopefully he'll lose his shit on the players on and off the field that switched off at the wrong moments, and will either be recalibrated or won't be seen of again.

I don't think we're getting as much as we should be from Piroe - fitness, disinterest, something is off, because in general his passing, foot work and brain are not operating where they should be, and certainly not where they were last season.

Not only from Piroe. Obafemi has already missed three or four huge chances this season. Had he scored at Rotherham and last night against Millwall we would now have 9 points. We have 4. Instead of being 2nd in the league table, we are 12th, and tomorrow we'll probably be 16th.

Went to make a coffee a few minutes before the end thinking the points are in the bag. Came back the game was over, looked at the scoreline and couldn't believe my eyes. Went straight over to BBC Sport for confirmation. Gutted.

At 2-1 we had the ball - in their half!
Wiser heads would have headed for the corner flag and braved the cat calls from the crowd.
Our brave heart went for glory and tried to score, egged on by the crowd.

We were just unprofessional - including, during this period, when one of our senior players watching the game, fielded the ball and threw it quickly to a Millwall player who promptly took the thrown in to launch an attack at us. We had more savvy than that in the LOW 50 years ago!!

My header for this thread was to highlight the LIONS, seems our team must have seen it and performed their Coco the clown act .

A bit of fair play from Paterson loses us points. I'm not sure if he deserves the most blame. The players on the pitch needed to finish the game.
As a senior player, Paterson needs to take a leadership position. Love begins in the showers after the game. While we're trying to nail down 3 points it's war. Why he was sitting among the selected players and coaches and not up in the stands where he belonged is anybody's business, but I'll bet it never happens again. As one of Martin's pets, now I can understand why Martin was even more bent out of shape than he might otherwise have been. Let's see if Paterson sulks or sucks it up.

All that said, @KVetch is right, we lacked maturity on the field to close out the game. On the left side we failed miserably to cut out two crosses. Sorinola is the responsible party, he was too high on both occasions. I don't want to see him as a LB/RB/WB again ... he just hasn't shown any value since arriving in these roles. Martin's going to have to go to a back 4 or repurpose Naughton or somebody else into the wing back role that Lati had; it can't be Sorinola.

Are we going to blame Paterson for losing us the game??? Martin should've told/ordered his players either to park the bus or pass the ball around but he didn't. It's HIS fault we lost the game and if I were Paterson I would never ever play for Martin again.

No we're not going blame Paterson for losing the game ... and neither is Martin ... but Martin did hold him accountable for doing something a 10 year old might do not a seasoned pro. I can understand Martin's frustration on this point ... Martin is trying to build a promotion challenging squad from a bunch of young players with limited experience. He needs the seniors that he has to lead and show by example. He has to be able to trust them to do that. Martin wouldn't be happy if one of his green youngsters did what Paterson did; but he was fit to be tied during the post-match interview whenever the interviewer brought the matter back up.

Martin did take responsibility for the game's outcome in the post-match. Perhaps not in the way we might like; but he took it on his shoulders. The discipline of parking the bus is not something you can yell out and expect results when the core of your defense is 20, 22, 23 years old, outside them on one side is a 21 year old, and the seasoned pro Naughton is sitting on the opposite side of the field to the point of attack. They hit our weakest link.

Let's see what changes are made for Saturday. Martin thinks the world of Lati; without him Martin is going have to get creative. Fundamental question: does Martin trust Sorinola as a FB/WB .... and for laughs, where is Paterson sitting.
