It would be a good step forward if it does happen. Don't know much about the striker but the other two look like typical Potts' signings and would bring pace and skill into the side - providing we've got a playmaker who can use them properly.

Well, at least we will be overstocked at winger now. I hope Barrie works hard for us.

Can one play more of an attacking mid role? Because this is becoming too much of a trend where we have a bunch at one position but still have areas that we can't even go 2 deep. Seriously, how long are we going to go without signing a first team lb?

Someone’s going to have to play attacking mid...unless Potts has a 6 winger formation he’s wanting to run.

That item above has an interesting last paragraph....
I thought Pablo was long gone lol
Ha ha. If we weren't so overstocked with wide players, I'd welcome him back in a heartbeat. He's done pretty well for Leeds at this level. Mind you, I remember the crafty passes he used to play for us in Laudrup's team. I wonder if he could play more centrally as a playmaker because he can certainly pick a through ball. He'd definitely be as good as anyone we have at the moment bearing in mind the post from @LittlePuma above.

From WOL a few minutes ago:

Swansea City to complete double swoop for Nottingham Forest's Barrie McKay and Man City's Bersant Celina as both undergo medicals
The pair are set to become Swansea City players.

Swansea City are closing in on the signings of Bersant Celina and Barrie McKay ahead of the start of the Championship season.

The two wingers are in South Wales and are understood to have undergone medicals ahead of sealing their moves from Manchester City and Nottingham Forest respectively.

They will become Swansea's fourth and fifth signings of the summer, following the captures of Yan Dhanda, Joel Asoro and Jordi Govea.

Kosovo international Celina spent last season on loan at Ipswich Town and scored eight goals in 38 appearances for the Tractor Boys.

Bersant Celina in action for Ipswich Town
He will cost Swansea an initial £3million, with the deal potentially rising to £4million depending on various clauses as the 21-year-old makes the switch from the Premier League champions.

Scottish winger McKay, meanwhile, found the net five times in 28 games for Forest last term. The 23-year-old is set to join in a deal worth over £500,000.

The Rangers product had been in line to join Greek club Olympiacos earlier in the summer only for the deal to fall through. He won a solitary cap for Scotland against France in 2016.

The deals are expected to be confirmed reasonably quickly and will leave Swansea well-stocked in terms of their wide resources, suggesting there could be exits in those positions with the likes of Wayne Routledge, Nathan Dyer, Luciano Narsingh, Jefferson Montero, Daniel James and Asoro already on the books.

It remains to be seen whether they will go straight into the squad for the Championship opener at Sheffield United.

Celina can play as an AM as well as on the wing, can see him rotating with Dhanda to keep them both fresh, McKay is a two footed left winger who likes to come inside and shoot.
Youngsters with promise , let's hope they can fulfill that promise and get us out of our seats.

This is good news. Plenty of young and hopefully eager for competition for starting places. Now James, Byers, Maric et have to step it up.

And the interesting thing is with all this young blood, what of Jordan Ayew. A mundane preseason to be polite; showed nothing of his January performance under CC.

I have sussed out potters tactics. His new formation is

To counter this wide play any team we play will go straight down the middle and play 8 v nordfeld.

I still hope we keep him. His can be the experienced head to guide the others and his work rate can set an example for them. I think that right now Jordan must be feeling pretty low. When Andre joined, Jordan was probably looking forward to a fruitful season in the PL with his brother. Now both aspirations have disappeared in a puff of smoke - Andre to Turkey and us into the EFL. He'll probably be sold on but I'd like to keep him as I think he'd fit in well with the new blood.

"Bersant Celina is someone we see as an attacking midfielder. He had a season in the Championship last season and he impacted the game there," he said.

Glad to hear this. Wonder if he and Dhanda can play together? Feel it'd be exciting but not sure it's feasible unless we sign a strong defensive midfielder.

Seems that Potts feels that both Celina AND Mckay can do a job as an AM as they are both fast and tricky players who drive at opposing defences. There again, we need someone with a cool head who can look up and play some killer passes. Interesting to see how this works out down the line.
