In a study of net profit from non-academy related transfers spanning 2014 to 2023 - ten years - by CIES: Player trading: from LOSC to Barcelona - CIES Football Observatory

We ranked 45th out of the top 50 clubs. We apparently earned net €62 million. Spent = €239. Received =€301. 26% profit

Conversely, Cardiff were ranked 33 places above worst in the bottom 50 clubs. A net loss of €85 million. Spent = €126. Received = €41. 68% loss

That's just for non-academy players. In the same period, we made a profit of €53 million from the sale of academy players.
