Nixon in the Sun has said that we have not played Narsingh because of an appearance deal with his former club. Apparently if he plays 2 more first team games we have to stump up a 6 figure fee !

I read it somewhere a week ago. Can't believe it. We are already paying him 6 figure wages every month for not playing! If it's true that he earns £50.000 a week, then we'll pay him at least £1.2 m until January when we can offload him. Mental.

That is penny wise and pound foolish. It makes you wonder about the business acumen of people who accept that charge in the contract without accepting it as a budgeted item and allocating the cost accordingly over the season when it comes due or over the life of the contract. It is absurd to have an asset that could potentially do the damage of Montero and keep it locked in the closet.
