It looks like our Graham is on the move again. He left us half way through the project , it’s fair to say he’s three quarters done at Brighton.
Will he be given the time to finish the job at Chelsea? Unlikely. Plus, the only beach is the Thames mud at low tide.
Brave man, our GP.

All the best coaches that aren’t the big guns have to serve an apprenticeship at the Swans. Martínez, Sousa, Rogers … Potter

He'll make a fortune whether he's successful or not.
As I said. Graham bagged himself a FIVE year contract at a club who probably have the biggest turnover of managers in the Premier League! There's a good chance he'll be sacked in 12 months, or sooner, when he could look forward to a four year pay-off on his contract for doing bugger all. Mind you, I think he's a good choice and, if player power doesn't do for him as it has others, he might well prove to be a big success. Either way it's win/win for him.

Since Fergie the term “in the long run” has vanished from football. Like politicians, football club owners can look ahead two years at the most.
Klopp has been at Liverpool since 2015, and Pep at Man City since 2016. Sean Dyche managed Burnley for 10 years between 2012 and 2022. There are other examples.

Potter is on £10 million a year for the 5 years, so his contract is worth at least a cool 50 million smackers. On top of that Chelsea have to pay his back-up staff of five coaches etc. Football gets madder by the week.

PS: Tuchel a far more experienced operator who has actually won things, was on £8 million a year. Reckon Potts must be very grateful to us for being the club to take the risk of bringing him here from remote lower level Scandy football. We should have had a sell-on clause! :(:)

PPS: If he flops I reckon that'll be the very last time a club offers a deal of those dimensions to anyone.

Potter has an understated manner. Gets his ideas across effectively, and he gets his players to perform. Now, can he get this current squad, cobbled together by Tuchel, to perform. Tuchel was having a struggle, but had delivered superbly last year. How long is Potter’s leash?
