Rather mundane first half, for all of our possession. We show no collective enterprise, individual flair or change of tempo to dynamically open up a defense.
Ok, 4-2-3-1, with Piroe behind Obi, Sorinola and Ntcham on the wings, Fulton and Grimes change positions from def. to more of the central midfield, Naughtn and Lati as full-backs.
Piroe teed off from distance and the keeper made a good save at the foot of his right hand post but we're not creating too much. We've had plenty of the ball but nowhere near incisive or explosive enough around their box. Still, it's early days yet and the lads are using this game to get up to pace. Very much has the feel of a practise match.
I am not sure this formation with these players will work in the Championship. Lati is too slow for a full-back, and is poor at defending crosses. Ntcham is not a winger.
Also, we really need to stop playing out from the back when pressed high.
