NEXT SEASON

Obviously at this stage it's a complete lottery as to who will do well or not. Teams will change personnel, managers will come and go and the only nailed on certainty is that our owners will give us fcuk all money to help our campaign. We can but hope that they will piss off and infect something else and take their parasitic leeches (they call them investors) with them. As ever the bookies have, even now, produced their title odds based on God knows what. They are:

01 Fulham 11/2
02 WBA 6/1
03 B'Muff 9/1
04 Blades 10/1
05 Swans 12/1 (9/2 to go up)
6/7/8/9 Boro, Scum, Forest, Barnsley
10/11 Reading & Stoke 20/1

How we are rated so highly is beyond me. Half our team will disappear, either sold or returned to parent clubs, and then there's the question of exactly who our manager will be. Along with many others I have no problem about Cooper leaving other than the prospect of appointing someone who is even worse. Yes, there ARE worse managers out there. Not many I agree but just like us to find one of them. Alan Tate anyone? If there is a vacancy to be filled and an internal solution sought, my vote would be for KOL. Okay, he's unproven and a gamble but at least he speaks good sense when he commentates on our games. And I'd have no problem whatsoever should Cameron Toshack get the job. At least he and KOL get what we are about in football terms and would try and get us back to playing the way we all love. Tosh and KOL in tandem? In the absence of someone really experienced, I'm quite taken with the idea.

But there is a fairly obvious left field candidate. I'm talking about Michael Flynn of Newport County who was so unlucky not to get them promoted. And he likes his team to play good football as well. He has refused, so far, to commit to County for next season saying that he is not happy, there being quite a few issues to sort out at the club. If Cooper goes I could see us in for him. I'd prefer better but know we could do far worse. Thoughts, guys?

Toshack would be the ideal replacement. Knows everything about the club. Knows the players that he will inherit from the unders. Experience of coaching against quality opposition in the U-23 leagues while he was here. Certainly as much experience as Cooper had.

Wolves, Palace, Everton and Spurs now need managers - 20% of the clubs. It's going to suck up a lot of talent ... perhaps even Andy Pandy

Can't believe I used talent and Andy Pandy in the same sentence.
