Being reported that he's on his way to Fulham and is in south west London for talks. The quoted fee is UP TO £20 million, which implies that the figure will be less than that - maybe some add-ons in the deal. But whatever, surely £20 million is small beer for a young, Premier League experienced, native English player, who not long ago was called into the England squad. Then we have to pay Barnsley their % cut on the deal. Does anyone else think that the Idiot is underselling us yet again?

Certainly. Why sell him at cut price, he’s on a relatively small wage and we would have got a lot more in January if we had to sell then? BBC reporting we are selling him for 15 mil with 5 mill add ons.
If Fernandez goes, or should I say when, as he doesn’t want to play for us, Amat (deemed not good enough and sent out on loan last season) and Rodon (L2 Cheltenham Town on loan last season) are our centre back pairing assuming VdH will be out injured. How the mighty have fallen.

Well, we were never mighty..... but better than this.

I despair at the sheer lack of professionalism that pervades our club. Sure, we'll make say £10+ million profit on him but why settle for that if we could make another 5/10 million down the line. As you say, he's not costing a fortune in wages, will command a higher fee in the expensive January window by which time, if we are doing really well, he might elect to stay anyway. Baffles me. But then maybe Levien urgently needs funds to pay Rooney's wages.

I think they are relying on his sale this window to help square up the books from the last 18 months. We made some horrible financial moves and had a pretty huge wage bill at the end of the first PL era. But I totally agree we should be getting £25-30 easy. That’s not to say someone didn’t offer it and he just has his heart set on London.

We made profit last summer (£20m), and we are making profit again this summer (£12m). If we sell Mawson, Fernandez and Jordan Ayew our total profit for this transfer window will be something like £40+ m. So £60+ m all together, which is almost the same amount of money the yanks invested in the club.

In case they are asset-stripping us, then they'll have their money back and a Championship club for free.

Those profit calculations are extremely black and white. There’s many things not taken into account as far as the operating budget of the club. Do I think the owners are screwing over the supporters by “asset-stripping” and pocketing transfer profits, absolutely not. In fact, I’m pretty confident it’s the complete opposite and we are operating at a deficit right now and the ownership group is trying to get the books back to a point where the club can begin to make profits. These guys are idiots and have made the wrong move at almost every turn and now they’re trying to get out of the hole they’ve dug. They’d honestly rather we focus on thinking they are asset-stripping us as opposed to us talking about how awful of businessmen they are.

Operating budget of the club is covered by TV money. Our revenue for 2017/18 is £120 m (TV money, sponsorships, merchandise, tickets etc.). That was more than enough to cover all our expenses in 2017/18. I bet we'll make profit here too. Not a big one, but profit.

Parachute money for 2018/19 will cover our operating budget. Some players have retired, Sanches and Abraham are back to their parent clubs, and big earners will be sold, if not now then in January transfer window. We are signing youngsters on low wages.

Small clubs like Swansea make profit from transfers (Siggy, Llorente, Mawson etc.), players are our only asset. I repeat, if we sell Mawson, Bony, Jordan Ayew, Fernandez and maybe Naughton and Routledge, then the yanks will make a huge profit.

Why would we be operating at a deficit after 7 yrs in the Premiership? with the FA & TV, Sponsorship monies that have been rolling into the club by the Multi £M's.we've hardly been the last of the big spenders regarding players by Premiership standards. Jenkins in that 7yrs held a very tight grip on the purse strings when it wasn't advantageous to him,but it would appear that since the (IMO) corrupt takeover we appear to be spiralling into dept.

Journalists are saying it’s a £15 million fee and that Fulham have got the bargain of the summer.
Also that Abedi Ayew got 846,000 euros commission from the Andre Ayew transfer.
Is the father the acting agent for his three sons ? Abedi Ayew 'Pele' remember him well, amazing player.

I can't see we would take a hit just so Alfie can be near his Mum and girlfriend. I suppose the only reason there isn't a bidding war for a future England Captain is he won't be fit to play for weeks yet.

Mawson now signed for Fulham and he says he can't wait to play for them and was attracted by their style of football. Why we waste our time being loyal to these mercenaries escapes me. The next time I see a player kissing our badge when he signs for us, I think I'll throw up. And please don't anyone start waffling about it being a short career! As a mate once said to me: if I could earn £50k a week for two years, they could break both my legs and I'd retire a happy man!! Bit drastic but I'm sure the sentiment is clear.

Another kick in the teeth from a player we brought from oblivion, obviously to players like him it's not a case of who the club is but what their league situation is, he's young enough to have given us another year and if we didn't get promoted then I'm sure most would have wished him well in leaving. I think he owed us that much.

Does anyone have any idea what Bony's fitness situation is. Is he still on the treatment table,? is he doing light training,? It's been a long time now since he's kicked a ball
