LAST CHANCE SALOON FOR DUFF

Any result other than a convincing win against a team who are struggling and below us in the table must surely see the end of Duffs reign in charge of our team .
Part of me is hoping for another humiliating loss even though I have everything crossed in the forlorn hope of a dominant , attacking , fluid and secure performance.
We have some injury concerns that may force his selection choices but my prediction is for a lackluster 0-0 or 1-1 bore draw.

Duffer is now overseeing the worst start of the Club in over 30 years. Considering some of the managers and financial overhangs we've had since then that really takes some doing. Shows a degree of inept that plumbs new depths. The Club over the reign of Madness and now to date have shown unbridled tolerance of poor performance. We either cut the cord now and move on or risk another season written-off before it's out of its first quarter and the real risk of relegation.

The same babble of excuses and reasons are becoming overly tedious.

Team setup will tell us whether Duffer is observant and capable of any self-education. Does he stick with a back 4 and LCL or revert to 3+2 and the same donkeys up top.

No excuses this time. We should win and, if we don't, he should be sacked immediately after the game. I think he should have gone by now anyway. Everywhere you look, read or listen, people who know what they're talking about, including many professional footballers and experienced pundits, are saying the same thing: that we lack identity, we lack a style and we lack a game plan. They say that the players look confused about their roles and are wandering aimlessly about the pitch doing nothing that tells you they have any confidence in Duff and his methods.

Wednesday will be tough, on their game, because they want to kick-start their own season too and move up the table. Can we get it together and beat them? Frankly, from what I've seen of us from pre-season until now, I don't think so. We play like a team of strangers who have no idea of how to achieve their objective ie, winning a game of football. Duff strikes me as a decent, likeable man but, unfortunately, that won't win us games. He is judged on results in a results driven business. So, on that basis, even he has to concede that thus far he's been an abysmal failure.

Yeah, it seems like 4-1-4-1 (Grimes in defensive midfield, Patino and Paterson in attacking midfield, Lowe and Ginnelly on the wings and Cullen up front) or 4-2-3-1 with Grimes and Patino as midfield pivots, Cullen up front, Lowe and Ginnelly on the wings and Paterson in attacking midfield. I like both formations. Finally, an attacking line-up.

Former Swan George Byers is in their bench, the only difference between Wednesday and us is one goal difference. That's shocking, if we can't score goals against them today then it's the end for Duff. I don't see how he can recover from a loss today. Not with Leicester coming up.

This squad in this line-up with this setup is good enough to win despite Duffer. It’s doesn’t put us in a good place for the rest of the seaso.
