INTO THE LIONS DEN

Prediction Champ
Always a tough fixture , Millwall away is not for the faint hearted.
Train strikes not helping our away fans to make their journey.
Millwall have had a decent start to their season so this will be an authentic test for our team.
Quite a few injury concerns so Duffs options limited .
Can't see us getting anything out of this game but let's hope for a continued improvement in our performance, commitment, pressing and drive !

Any news on Ginnelly. I really like the LCG line, but when Yates came on he really up'd his performance over previous matches.

We need Patino out there too. He's gone from strength to strength.

Not expecting anything from this game. Despite the scoreline we weren't great against Owls and enjoyed the run of the ball - and they look strong relegation candidates. Good teams know how to play us and I'm far from convinced about Duff's gameplan. It might work with different players but our lot like to pass the ball and aren't equipped, physically or mentally, to do what the manager wants.

From what I've seen, neither is Duff equipped to do anything other than what we've witnessed. He's no experience at this level and I don't think he has the ability to change. Passing football is not in his DNA. I applaud the intention to introduce more fitness more intensity and harder pressing but we need a mix of that combined with our passing football. I fear the twain shall never meet.

The news is not good. Allen has had an operation on his groin (3 months out). Wood is going to have an operation on his ankle (3 months out). Ginnelly had a total rupture of his Achilles (out of the season).

LCG just became LCY and having loaned out Brad Cooper we're now back to 3 CBs.

Naughton is back and Walsh is close to fitness. But the latter won't last long under Duff. Allen's three months will become eight and then he will retire. Wood's ankle injury will keep him out for more than three months. As for Ginnelly, he'll be a big loss.

We have no problems at the back. Humpreys is a centre-back, Naughton and Pedersen can always fill in. We are well covered at full-back. Grimes, Fulton, Patino and Cooper in defensive and central, Patino, Cooper and Paterson in attacking midfield. Walsh will also be back soon. The positions where we are thin are in attacking midfield and on the wings. Congreve is an option there, but I'd like to see us either promote our own academy players or sign a couple of free agents.

Andrew Ayew's available. So's Eden Hazard 😂

More seriously: Robert Snodgrass (probably too old), Junior Stanlislas, Josh Martin, Jordan Ibe?
I would definitely have a look at this guy:

Played for the Bundesliga club Stuttgart, he is only 22, and scored both against Bayern Munchen nad Borussia Dortmund in 2020. He scored 4 goals in 287 minutes against Koln, Menchengladbach, Borussia Dortmund and Mainz in the second half of last season. He had a couple of injuries in between but nothing serious.

don’t underestimate André Ayew. I bet he could still crest havoc against Chanpionship defenders. And although there’s a certain ex-ball boy that wouldn’t be too happy if Hazard would play for chips I’d sign him.

I wasn't mocking Ayew, I think he's a terrific player. The joke was Hazard coming here...
Knowing you as I do, I assumed that. The other thing I like about Ayew is that he's a leader and we need more of them. In fact, if we signed him, I'd make him the club captain. With his quality and experience, he'd command respect in a way that Grimes can't.

Madness getting fired this early would be something. A GD of -7 indicates a table position nearer to us would be better suited to performance
